After having a very aggressive talk with the owners, I decided to clearify my rating: The first theft and sign of low security occured 2 years ago, when it was still differently managed. 300 € from a friend went missing. The MacBook that was "stolen" 4 weeks ago - apparently and according to the owners, the guests who claimed to have the laptop stolen were in fact lying. I tend to trust them, as they said they have the proof at the Ukunda Police Station. When I heard about the second theft for the first time, I decided to finally write a review as I felt obligated to warn others. If - like the new Owners kind of implied - I just wanted to write bad review for any other reason than that, I would most definitely done so under a wrong name - that's for sure. The second issue about my original review: The Owner said my self-advertisement is not appropriate. While she might be right for some, I still am very certain that our own place and ownership has one thing that they do not have: The manners to not shout at someone within an argument (also a misunderstanding- but also faulty accusation from my side). Infact I offered to alter my review after they explained their side of the story. All that followed AFTER I offered this were insults in form of "How old are you", "Our staff will never help yours again" and so on. This is no way to resolve any issue - this is hatred and even more arrogance. So dear future guest of Peekabo: See for yourself how this compound has developed. But better don't discuss with the owners?? Even if one does something wrong, it is still the way of the kind and open-minded to forgive and resolve.
PS: Forgot about the actual review :D The pool is small to medium-sized and at the time of my stay was mostly cleaned. (The stay is 2 years back). It is 750m to the beach and the neighbourhood is quiet. The rooms were rather small and dark - plus not a lot of intimacy because there have been two terracces just 1 wall next to ours -, but everything neccassary was there. A plus is the secured parking and according to the owners now: No security issues anymore and now daily cleaning except to formerly only...

The look and feel is very fresh and off course they are very clean. The house staff is always cheerful and friendly and Hatibu is the best chef ever. ||||Another great advantage is that the Flemish owners speak Dutch and English. They are very helpful and passionate about Kenya. I think this is a great strength, not only for Dutch-speaking people, but for every European visiting Africa. ||||A real must-go. ||I wish I could pack my...
