This is not billed as a luxury hotel, so as long as you do not expect that, it is fine.||||WELCOME||I had a great welcome to the hotel, the taxi driver was trying to charge us extra for the drive from the airport, someone came out from the hotel to find out what the issue was, and paid the driver the extra 1Dinar that we were short. You would definitely not get this in the uk.||||HOSPITALITY||When the person who paid our taxi heard we had no Kuwaiti currency (none of the ATMs in the airport worked, we tried 4 different ones, with about 6 different cards) he personally bought us to the ATM. The first two had run out of money / didn't work, but the third one did, he then took us to a great local place to eat, before he headed back to the hotel. This kind of hospitality and help is rare. We later found out he was the hotel owner.||||While we checked in we were also brought a bottle of water, which was greatly received. ||||ROOMS||There is a lift to the rooms, which were very spacious with a kitchenette and microwave. The rooms are a little dated, but not too different from the pictures shown, so there are I expected. Wifi worked fine in our rooms, as well as in the lobby.||||My sleep was comfy, the shower was spacious.||||BREAKFAST||There was not a great deal for me, as it was very bread heavy, croissants, toast etc. as a none bread eater, the only thing for me was boiled eggs.||||LOCATION||It is about 10 minutes walk from Doha Bay, which is the bay you will recognise from lots of the tourist postcards. Its a calm and clean family beach which families visit way into the early hours, everything seems to happen much later in the UAE. We saw families at the beach at 1am.||||It is also right next to a Mall that will have every shop and eatery you would want, with a lot of recognisable names. Salmiya was one of the most destroyed cities in the Kuwait invasion, so it was interesting for me to try to search what parts of the city looked like all those years ago.||||It was 8 Dinars to and from the airport.||||As long as you do not expect luxury this hotel is fine. The area feels safe, and rooms are spacious. I would definitely...
