Saravanaa Bhavan Salmiya — Restaurant in Salmiya

My earnest request.. please don't use the brand name of Saravana Bhavan and tarnish it.. worst is people who have no idea about what quality and authentic taste, the original Saravana Bhavan, stands for, would have quite a negative experience, and never venture to try again. Yesterday, we went to try this Salmiya branch, and were greeted with lousy waiters, least interested to take order. The menu card was 8 pages, but whatever we were trying to order, had one response.. not available or finished. We took the easier route.. tell us what you have. The so called 'manager' proudly proclaimed only 6 dishes were available. We ordered 3 out of the Hobson's choice.. now comes the best part.. the person cleaning the floor, came to serve.. least likely he even bothered to clean his hands. After serving, no one was around.. who cares, if we want something more or if we liked the dishes? The taste was really ordinary. The crispy baby corn, was less baby corn and more corn flour. The Gobi 65 was cauliflower plus colored batter, then fried and served. The veg fried rice was bland. I cursed myself to expect Saravana Bhavan standards.. but hey the name did say its Saravana Bhavan. Irony is we tried North Indian / Chinese food in a restaurant, which has legacy of being one of the best names out there, in authentic South Indian vegetarian cuisine. Really heartbroken.. so will anyone be, if they try the original...

Hearing this name and how good was the food from my friend had high hopes but i was let down by the below average experiance ..

We went for dinner took taxi hoping for some amazing food ambiance is good and first thing we noticed it took 5 minutes for anyperson to come and take the order and that too when there was barely any crowd

We ordered thali and mushroom chilli - south indian thali is ok nothing special but starter is big dissapointment its soo much oily and no taste at all above all we have to wait for some one to follow up and get ketchup which is expired its unbelivable they are serving this and taking such a high price

Worst worst service , people will be waiting for some one to come to them for minutes and when they take order they just dissapear ... even if u want something u just have to scream at them otherwise u wont heard ... such a big hotel and barely any people to serve ... realy poor never going again ....even small hotels has better service ... no salt, sugar spice...

We are coming to this restaurant after a long time. Today we went again with a group of 16. What we notice is that there was a group of six who might be their friends. They came almost 15 to 20 minutes later than us. What I noticed is that Our orders were late, but the group that came after us, they were served much ahead of us. This was really an unacceptable behavior from their side , That they kept us waiting for a long time and was serving their friends very fast. I urge the management of Saravana Bhavan to look into this matter seriously as this will damage the reputation of such a good restaurant chain With branches worldwide .
