Dining out at Albergo a fancy, upscale hotel with many restaurants where exquisite decor and ambiance contribute to a memorable experience. Upon stepping inside this elegant restaurant, guests are immediately enveloped in a world of sophistication and style. The plush furnishings, soft lighting, and tasteful decor create a welcoming and luxurious environment that is perfect for intimate dinners or special occasions specially the backyard garden where our dinner was The attention to detail in the design contributes to a truly upscale expectation but it was not the case for this section of the restaurant the chairs were not comfortable for eating to have a satisfying comfortable dinner. but The service is impeccable, with attentive and courteous staff that cater to the needs of every guest. From the moment you are seated to the final dessert course, they ensures a seamless experience, with exquisite plating and attention to detail that reflects the care and precision put into every aspect of the meal.
Despite the ambiance and exceptional service, it is in the realm of food quality that this restaurant falls short of expectations. the menu have limited dishes, the execution and flavor of the food do not always live up to the restaurant's expectation. Some dishes lack the depth of flavor or creativity specially in the salads we ordered shrimps avocado salad and salad of the day was artichoke salad I wanted more in terms of taste and overall satisfaction. The Beetroot rosacea was the best appetizer I ever had upon taking the first bite, my taste were greeted with a symphony of flavors the earthy beetroot with the creamy mascarpone cheese inside the combination of textures and flavors was perfectly balanced, creating a harmonious and memorable experience this dish was a true culinary masterpiece that showcased the artistry and skill of the chef. The pasta was great we ordered Truffle Orecchiette my complain is the past quality I was expecting an artisan pasta or a hand made one specially that the orecchiette is the easiest pasta to hand made specially that it will elevate the whole dish. The pizza was great we ordered Truffle Mascarpone, however as I continued to indulge in this culinary delight, I couldn't help but notice that the pizza lacked a certain balance I think the mascarpone cheese give it some lower level vibes, it was delicious but I felt that it could have been improved with a bit more attention to flavour. The Sautéed Shrimps was good basic. For desert we ordered fruit salad was good for it is and we ordered tiramisu was good but need more attention and sophistication to make it perfect.
It was a truly classy experience with its lavish decor, attentive service, and upscale ambiance and food, however it lacks some spark and attention to details to be a great dining experience specially that you come with high expectations and this restaurant has the potential to become a destination known for its elegance and for its exceptional cuisine.
But I will come again but this time will check the rooftop.
Update: the second experience with albergo terrace restaurant was below average to a point that don’t deserve a...
Read moreDisappointing Stay Despite Friendly Staff
I stayed at this hotel for two nights in April and had a mixed experience. The positives were the friendly and excellent staff, efficient valet service, and cleanliness. However, there were several negatives that outweighed the positives.
Firstly, the hotel is not stroller or handicapped friendly. The entrance lacks ramps, forcing us to carry our baby up the stairs. This is a significant accessibility issue.
Furthermore, I was shocked by the hotel's stinginess with water. Only two small bottles were provided, and requesting more incurred an additional charge. As a guest staying in a suite with a baby, this was woefully inadequate. The notion that 500ml of water per person per day is sufficient is unrealistic.
Another disappointing aspect of our stay was the lack of basic room amenities. Our room didn't have a coffee machine or a kettle, which is a standard expectation in most hotels. The hotel's solution was to provide these items upon request, but this is an inconvenience and shouldn't be necessary. Moreover, considering the hotel's strict water policy, requesting a kettle would mean using the limited complimentary water for coffee, leaving us with no drinking water.
Additionally, the bathroom design posed a significant safety risk. The tub shower lacked a secure handhold or step to facilitate safe exit, leaving a large gap between the tub and floor. With wet and slippery feet, this design flaw made it extremely difficult to step out of the tub without assistance. In fact, my husband had to help me every time to avoid slipping.
Furthermore, we encountered some safety concerns in our room. A metal piece near the bed posed a hazard to our baby, and the headboard's gaps made it easy for items to fall behind the bed, which was difficult to retrieve.
The baby crib provided was also not suitable for young babies, being too low.
We also experienced issues with the baby equipment. The high chair we requested was not clean, and after our baby used it, we found dried milk stains on the straps. When we requested the chair again the next day, it was brought to us with the same stains, indicating a lack of proper cleaning and maintenance.
Lastly, the complimentary toiletries, specifically the toothbrushes, were of poor quality. The bristles were extremely soft, making them ineffective for cleaning...
