JPOD Capsule Hotel — Hotel in Borneo

This Capsule Hotel is definitely my favorite one on my travels so far!!. I've been to 6 different ones in various countries, but like this one, the best. The capsule is a good size, and it comes with a small table inside, so you can do some work. Beds are comfortable. The lobby area has lots of seating. Laundry, water is both hot and cold. There are huge lockers downstairs that are really big. And a locker inside the rooms as well. Air-conditioning is fantastic inside the capsules. The bathrooms are also great, with excellent water pressure. The place is very clean and well kept look brand new! They have family rooms and conference rooms upstairs. The terrace is massive with a game room. Good place to relax or have some fun with the gitoni tables. The staff are fabulous here!! So friendly and helpful with anything you need. Pros: Clean and comfy beds, super helpful staff answered all my questions helped me when my Grab app wasn’t working, big lockers and easy self-service laundry. They also provide slippers which is a nice touch.

Cons: For someone like me who prefers walking to places, I found the location a bit tedious to walk back and forth from the main part of town - having to walk down massive, busy roads in hot daytime or when it’s dark at night, where the pavement sometimes runs out. Also the hotel/hostel itself didn’t have much atmosphere or chance to meet others. The toilet/shower is a wet room so no separate shower and feels a bit like showering in an airplane bathroom.

Overall: Not the most social place if you want to meet other backpackers but a good place to catch up on sleep in a blackout...

It is the best capsule hotel that I have stayed in till now. The single capsule room was clean and the door was even equiped with card access electronic lock which makes me and my stuff feels safe considering I am travelling alone. The front counter staff was polite and friendly and makes me feel warm and welcomed even when I checked in during late night and check out the next day. The hotel was filled with all kinds of useful facilities needed such as laundry machine, water station, cafe and etc. There are convient stores and food shops available nearby so it has all I need for a stay during trip.
