Unfortunately i hate to have to write reviews like this, however its an honeat account of our stay. The hotel only serves vegetarian food, it is not advertised anywhere and if we had known this beforehand we would not have booked as we like to have at least 2 meals at the hotel during our stay and are big meat eaters. Perfect selling point for vegetarians though..... The staff are very standoffish and it's only the cleaning and maintenance staff who actually acknowledge you. The rooms are a fair size although very uncomfortable seating area. The bed is very small and extremely hard, making a good night sleep non existent. Bedding was not changed once even though it was requested. The air conditioning in our bedroom didn't work very efficiently and our bedroom was very hot. The free WiFi didnt work at all in our room and you would have to sign in again with your passcode if you wanted to go where there was intermittent signal. We did not want to sit in public areas doing our work plus looking like we didn't like each others company like everyone else with their heads in their phones and I pads! The shower was constantly stone cold, even though the water heater was switched on permanently, however the tap water was red hot. Due to smoking being allowed at certain floors of the hotel, (according to signage not on our floor) our room smelt very strongly of cigarette smoke when the cleaners turned the air conditioning off. The gym was in very poor condition with the main apparatus not in use due to damage. Young children were often in there messing around on the equipment. The gym became a storage area for chairs on the second day. There was no towels available for use in the swimming pool, and no staff around to ask. The pool was very small with a section for children, but the water did look clean. The was a free shuttle service 3 times a day, which we used one afternoon as it was raining very heavily and we didn't want to get soaked walking to the Imago mall, however we were charged the same as what it would have cost in a private taxi. After raising all the above issues with staff, they did not accept any responsibility an wouldn't do anything to make the situation more bearable. On the day of bringing to the managers attention about our room stinking of cigarette smoke, it was clear that they had repremanded the housekeeping staff member, who then came to our room to tell us that she had not been smoking in our room and to spray some air freshner. A very disappointing stay, waste of money and a lack of leadership and responsibility. Such a shame as this hotel is in a...
Read morewe are a family of 6. booked a 3 bedroom suite in this hotel. On booking they confirmed that they had 4 of those suites and we could be put on any floor. We requested top floor to have better views.||On arrival we were given floor 8 (801). We noticed that the bathroom door for the children was faulty and could not open or close. They moved us to 601 on the 6th floor. There one of our children got bed bugs and the apartment was very dirty. We were moved back to 801. The bathroom door was repaired but now the double bed was broken and again it was very dirty. They moved two of us to another room just to sleep as they could not do anything that evening. The following day they agreed to have our child - with over 100 bites - seen to by a clinic and they paid for the much needed medication. They also spring cleaned the 3 bedroom suite. A positive is that the suite is large and gave us family time together in the living room. Breakfast is also nothing to write home about. We choose this hotel as some of us are vegetarians but the breakfast "hot" dishes were left overs from the bufet the night before, kept cold and just awfull. There is bread and a toaster but then all you can add to this is butter and some local jam. When we asked for honey or chocolate spread we were told "no". There was some fruit, cakes and salad. We had booked this hotel for 6 nights and asked for compensation for all the problems and we got a drink, some cake and a plate of fruit. The people at reception are nice but powerless. This building is a high need of maintenance. The windows in the suite do not close properly, the furniture at the swimming pool is broken with screws sticking out approx. 6 cm! the gym is hot and has no water supply. the swimming pool and gym are accessed via a banquiet hall. Just very shabby. location: need to take taxi's everywhere as on a very busy...
Read moreArrived at hotel around 9pm. We came from airport with few luggage + having a small child. Staff did not alert on the arrival guest. We saw the front office staff were talking to each other from outside. They did not offer a bell man to help. We need to asked then only the help. After check-in, we found a screwdriver on the floor. Luckily our 2-years old child didn’t took it. The counter top was also full of dust. Probably there were unfinished work on the room. The temperature of the air conditioner also couldn’t be adjust. After we unpacked our stuff, we decided to went out for dinner. Unfortunately the door was unable to lock. We went down to the front desk and asked to change to other room. The staff did not allowed us to change our room since we have checked in. She then called the maintenance to fix the door. We proceeded to go back to our room and wait for the maintenance. After about an hour, the maintenance still couldn’t fix the door lock. The maintenance guy then called front desk and asked for another room. We now have to packed back our stuff and moved to other room (different floors) and we have to asked ourselves for the bell man. Very inconvenient experience. We were so exhausted and hungry. Touch down in KKIA straight away to hotel and did not even have any meal yet. Because of these unpleasant conditions we were very disappointed. We were supposed to have our dinner 2 hour earlier if the staff checked the room properly before vacant out to guest. Went down and asked for FO Manger name, and get sarcasm by the staff named FATIMA. Very unprofessional treatment. We were truly disappointed with the service. HR should provide a proper training for the staff on how to serve their guests. Definitely not coming back. Overall experience...
