Havona Boutique Hotel @ Mount Austin — Hotel in Johor

Stumble upon this hotel by chance. Stayed here for a night during my recent trip to JB. This hotel is located near to AEON Mall Tebrau, not too far from Mount Austin area too. Pretty unique as this was the first self check-in hotel i stayed, although the Kiosk is outside, there is still hotel staff station at the front desk.

I was assigned a room on the 2nd floor. Upon entering, there was a strong cigarette smell. The room was spacious and very minimalistic. Room does show sign of wear and tear, the bed linen provided also had patches of marks. On a positive side. The bed is actually pretty comfortable. Do take note, noise level could be a little loud from the KTV across. and there are weird knocking sound from above. There is no 24hrs convenience stall nearby, but there is a eatery that operates till late about a 5 mins walk away.

First time at Havona, it's a 3 level building with the receptionist located at the lobby. A short flight of stairs prior to the main lobby, probably may have to utilise the wooden at the corner of the hotel for wheelchair users. A lift secretly located facing the receptionist. Upon arrival, Zurina, the face of the hotel front greeted us with a warm smile. Although I had a booking, I inquired more about the hotel rates and check in procedures. Zurina is extremely helpful and professional and answered all my queries with a smile. The room is neat and tidy and the toilet is huge. Zurina also offered to provide me with a hairdryer which can be borrowed from the counter. The room particularly has no issues. Spacious and a couple of hangers to hang ur clothes for a short vacay. Everything was pretty good except that one of the rooms we got had a very very strong stench of cigarette smoke, even though the room is non-smoking. The staff tried to mask it with some room spray but the scent lingered throughout the stay. ALSO, two persons claiming they were staff members came knocking at 11.30pm and 6.20am, and saying that they were looking for their 'friend'??? Which is very bizarre and suspicious, although they left without doing anything else. Just be careful if you are a single traveller.Also the room walls are very thin so be prepared to hear everything the rooms next to yours are doing, along with whatever noise comes from the area around...
