Cleanliness, let’s say when I wiped the desk, I found out it’s dirty. You wont notice because of the abstract color of the table. And when I opened the toilet door, there’s a big cockroach welcoming me. Good thing it didn’t fly, so I managed to sweep it out onto the hallway. But the most annoying thing during my stay was that my key card isn’t working on my 2nd day. When I came back in the afternoon I wasn’t already able to open the door. Thankfully there’s a nearby staff and probably heard the beep of the doorlock and checked. He used he’s own card to open my door. Then next was after a few hours when I came back after buying some food, I used my card but it’s still not working. So I went down and told the front desk the situation. He radioed a staff upstairs to open the door. The 3rd time, I went down to buy a drink, I asked the other staff in front desk to send someone because I couldn’t use my key card. He took my card and did something. Probably checked the computer. And then he gave it back to me and said it was ok. So I went back to my room. But lo and behold, the door still wont open. This made me really pissed off. When I went down again I told the 2 staff that it’s still not working and I can’t help to curse. Maybe it shows to my face that I’m really mad or their were other guests cheking in and they don’t want to hear my complaints, that’s why the first staff I talked to (2nd incident), went up to check the door lock. And finally I was able to open my door. I forgot to mention before going down (during the 3rd incident) I passed by the “Staff Only” room. And I heard voices and the door was slightly ajar, so I knocked to ask for help. But instead of opening, the guy inside closed the door. Then after I walked a few steps I heard it open and I looked back and it’s slightly ajar again. RUDE!I’ve stayed in this hotel a few times now but I don’t think I will consider coming back again because of their...
Read moreWe recently stayed at Mount Austin Paradise, experiencing both the Studio Suite and the Premier Suite. While the location is convenient, there are several areas where the hotel could improve to enhance the guest experience.
In the Studio Suite, we noticed medium-length hair on the pillow and bedsheets, suggesting that the linens may not have been changed prior to our arrival. The bathroom basin was leaking significantly due to a broken U-trap beneath the sink. Basic items like toilet paper were not provided at check-in, and the TV remote had visible dried residue on it. The jacuzzi was also not clean enough for use.
A concerning moment occurred past 10pm, when we encountered two individuals lying on the floor near the emergency stairwell just outside our room. They appeared to be intoxicated, speaking loudly on speakerphone and giggling among themselves. This created an unsettling atmosphere late at night.
In the Premier Suite, the bed lacked firmness and support, making it difficult to rest properly. Road noise was a major issue—the windows were standard home-grade types and did little to block out traffic. On a Friday night, loud cars with modified exhausts passed by regularly, disturbing our sleep well into the early morning.
While we appreciated the spaciousness of the rooms and the potential of the property, the overall stay was not restful. We hope the management considers these points seriously, as the location and concept have promise with better upkeep and attention to...
Read more"This hostel is ideal for budget backpackers or solo travelers looking for a quick, one-night stay. The price is definitely its strongest point. However, the cleanliness of the flooring leaves much to be desired. Additionally, I felt a bit uneasy about the safety of other guests. I witnessed an uncomfortable situation involving two Indian men and a woman of unknown nationality. The hostel's location is inconvenient, as crossing the road to the other side without traffic lights is challenging. I'm unsure about the frequency of linen changes, but given the overall conditions, it's something to consider.Overall, while the price is attractive, I would prioritize safety and cleanliness when choosing accommodations."Possible additional points to consider:Mention specific details about the flooring (e.g., sticky, dirty, or with stains).Describe the overall atmosphere of the hostel (e.g., noisy, quiet, or unfriendly). If you remember, mention any positive aspects, even if brief, to provide a...
