What I found quite interesting about this place was not that this shop is a fusion of western and Asian cuisine ,which I think is not exactly a rare or common sight to see today, but the fact that this shop cooked food which I usually dislike or prefer not to eat like bimbimbap or kimchi slaw into food which I like or would not mind eating again. That is what made this shop stand out from the rest, from my point of view. The reason why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because the meat could be better. It was good but not exactly the kind I would call one of the best or the one that stood out from the rest which is what I would call deserving of 5 stars no offense. However, I would not mind coming to this shop again. I think this shop has the potential of being more popular than it currently is. I'm not really a meat expert so I cannot fully explain what the shop can do better with the meat but I feel this meat did not exactly have a lasting taste. Despite of that, I think every single dish I tried really tasted asian which I am impressed with. Also the food was heavy and I got full quickly but I was able to finish most of the food but this is not a negative thing and does not really affect the rating I have this shop. So in summary, the main reason for the four stars is because the food is really good, not gonna lie, but could be better which is why I removed the fifth star. WILL...
Read moreVisited Project Smoked Dong in JB recently, and it was a pretty pleasant experience overall. The restaurant is nicely located beside a pond, offering a peaceful view that adds to the chill dining atmosphere. Great spot if you’re looking for something a little different from the usual city noise.
The food is clearly designed for meat lovers—plenty of smoked meats, grilled options, and hearty sides. The flavors are solid and portions are satisfying, though personally I didn’t find the dishes addictive enough to crave regular return visits. Still, they’ve done a good job creating a unique menu that stands out.
Service was genuinely warm. The staff offered to show food pictures to help with ordering, served complimentary water without needing to ask, and even provided an extra cushion to make the seat more comfortable for my son—which I really appreciated as a parent.
They’re coming up to their 1-year anniversary soon, and I do hope they continue to grow and evolve. While it might not be a frequent-go-to for me, it’s definitely worth checking out at least once—especially for the view and the...
Read moreCame solo today and ordered the beef brisket. It was a huge flavour bomb with each mouth. The brisket had a bold spiced beefy flavour and was really good on its own.
Accompanying the dish was chilli oil with crispy chilli bits, some sweet tangy sauce, and what seems to be mustard(?). My favourite for sure was the Chilli Oil and crisp, it added a stronger savoury flavour that elevated the dish. Went with the mustard looking sauce next which was sweeter, and help to change the taste of the beef, making the beef flavour more pronounced and the spice flavour less intense. The tangy sauce was last because i am usually not a fan of sourer foods. It wasnt as sour as i thought, and was a very good palette cleanser in between the sauces.
Interchangeably went between all sauces throughout the meal, and it was delightful.
My drink, the Fellow Yellow was a very refreshing one, so much that i got a second one later on.
Not forgetting the really friendly staff that accompanied. Made the experience all the better. Easy...
