This is my first visit to Muar and I had chosen to stay at MUO Resort. I am glad I had made the right choice as it met my stay expectations. I had boarded a coach from Singapore to Muar, whereby I had alighted at Terminal Bentayan Muar. The bus terminal is 2.1km from the resort, which is situated at the fringe of the town centre. After alighting, I headed for lunch nearby, followed by a 20 mins walk to the accommodation. As the resort is nestled inside and not very visible, you would need to look out for its signage at the main road. It is situated between Bei Boutique Hotel and Cok Cai Yan Vegetarian Restaurant. So, keep a lookout for these two places and you will be able to find the property. Upon entering the site, I could not locate the reception. I walked to the back of the compound and enquired with the restaurant staff, only to find out that it is located beside Zuzu Coffee. Opened in 2018, MUO Resort is a 29-room property that offers an interesting theme, whereby the rooms are located in a farm house setting. At the back is a mini zoo compound with animals like goats, sheep, deer, rabbits and cats. There is also a large garden that is ideal for the hosting of events. I had booked the Business Suite (Room No. 205) for my one night stay here. The room is spacious at 28 square metres, which comprised of a living room and bedroom. The rubberwood furnishings supplied by a Muar company, Natural Signature, provided an unique and interesting theme to the room. There are two television units, one in the living room and the other in the bedroom. Besides local channels, there are Cable TV channels like AXN and Astro SuperSport. If you are feeling bored, log in to the bedroom’s SMART TV and be entertained with YouTube and Spotify. The Wi-Fi works well during my stay here. The two air-conditioning units did their job of cooling the room, despite the warm weather. The bathroom has a comfortable size and offers a bathtub, hand held shower and rain shower. The shower pressure is good. However, as there is no partition, the shower water will wet the floor after each bath. In the room, you can find amenities such as bath towels, shower gel, shampoo and hair dryer. Unfortunately, there are no dental kit, mini fridge and electronic safe. A kettle is provided which you can make coffee and fruit tea during your stay here. The resort has two food and beverage outlets namely, Pak Cik Kopitiam (Opens 8am - 2pm) and Zuzu Coffee (Opens 11am - 8pm). Whilst I did not have breakfast there, I headed out to a coffeeshop called Heng Mui, located just 50m away. This is a popular coffeeshop which was frequented by the Sultan of Johor. I had a hearty breakfast which comprised of toast, half-boiled eggs, Nasi Lemak and coffee. Next to this coffeeshop is a 24hrs 7-Eleven store. Come night, a Ramly Burger stall known as Fendy Fast Food operates beside this convenience store. I bought a burger there for supper during my stay there. The resort is a 15 mins (1.1km) walk to Wetex Parade (Shopping mall). Alternatively, you can take a ride-hailing service (Grab) to get there at RM5 during off-peak period. Nearby the mall are the various attractions such as Glutton Street and Muar Cultural Walk. I would say MUO Resort is possibly the best accommodation here in Muar. It appeals to families who can bring their children to interact with farm animals and at the same time, enjoy a relaxing stay in a tranquil environment. A highly recommended stay if you are here in Muar!

If you’re looking for a peaceful and quiet getaway resort, this—well, isn’t it. At least not for us! But let’s start with the good stuff: ✔️ Comfortable room, bed, and toilet — we loved every detail, including the high-quality shampoo and body wash provided. The overall experience was clearly curated with guests in mind! ✔️ Room size was just right — not too big, not too small. For Muslim guests, there's enough space to pray comfortably. Now, onto the not-so-great part of our stay: ❌ Our room (Room 303) was located right next to Sama Sama Cuisine — about 10 steps away. This meant we could clearly hear music from the café, staff chatting, and even guests who attended an event there. Some even gathered in front of our room, and yes, they were loud. Suggestion: It would be great to place a signage to prevent café guests from crossing into the resort area, especially near the rooms. That said, thank you MUO Resort for your quick response to our complaint — we really appreciated it! Other notes: - No toothbrush and toothpaste were provided. - No prayer mat available for Muslim guests. Overall: MUO Resort has so much potential, and we’re looking forward to staying here again in the future. Let’s continue supporting MUO Resort, everyone!

We stayed here for two nights over the long weekend. This hotel is situated on a secluded area just by the main road. The sign to the hotel is quite small and can be easily missed. However, it is conveniently located and easily accessible. A clinic & 7 eleven is situated on the main road just opposite the entrance to the place. Our first impression of the place : cute and cosy. Love the rustic, urbanvillage ID of the place. Feels like we were back in the 80's police barrack/government quaters. Love the murals too. We stayed in two twin bedrooms. Room are basic, No fridge, no wardrobe. Iron, ironing board and prayer's mat (sejadah) can be requested from the front office. Bed is a little soft (i'd prefer firm bed). But love the pillows! My children love the animals in the small farm/petting zoo. They have some chicken, geese, goats, deer, guineafowl, a lamb, lots of rabbits and a few hamsters. The multitasking staffs at the resort are very friendly, polite and accommodating. I just hope the management can employ extra staff just to take care the wellbeing of the animals. We really enjoyed our stay. We'll be back again soon! Feels like balik kampung!

I check in late around 9pm. The signage got no light at night. We missed the entrance junction. Its location exactly before Bei Hotel. No signage to show where is reception counter. The reception is inside the three cafe. At night it is really not visitor friendly. I have terrible check in. The 3rd booking party cancelled my booking without notice & refund. 1 week before arrival i already emel hotel to confirm my reservation. They reply my booking is confirm. Suddenly during check in the staff said my booking is being cancelled by system. He just showed booking confirmation that written cancelled with red pen only. Im totally lost that night. The receptionist have no empathy for us. Not provide reason why our booking being cancelled, not provide any suggestion or any helpful intervention what can be made. I came with 3 kids & we have to lepak in front of the receptionist until I have to settle it with my booking agent. Its like u r not out customer, i no need to entertain u. And i feel really disappointed that i already emel hotel to double confirm my booking & i even ask rate for late check out but when the system cancel my booking without reason, they does not follow up with me. Because of that all good ambience, all nice review by others is just gone with bad experience.

In future, maybe hotel management can train staff on courtesy, emphaty & soft skill to handle unexpected situation.

Another issue, for standard room is not sound proof. If ur neighbouring room is loud u have to accept. Even opening shower from nxt door can be hear. Other than that, i agree with all good...
