Expo Hotel — Hotel in Labuan Island

The hotel is situated in city centre, the staff is really welcoming, helpful, friendly, and welcoming. However, the only (major) downside is that the rooms are extremely tiny and claustrophobic. I'm happy that I stayed there only for one night.||||Compared to most other places in Malaysia, the cost was much higher even when booked online at a cheaper rate supposedly. Hotels in other places throughout Malaysia would be about 30% cheaper.||||The room and bathroom were clean, had a window and all other basic amenities. I'd definitely recommend this hotel IF the rooms could be bigger and the rate could be reduced.||||Note: They do not offer breakfast since they don't have an in-house restaurant. You'll find plenty of eateries nearby so nothing to worry.||||I am a vegetarian and I found decent vegetarian food (thosai/dosai/dosa) at Barakath restaurant which is hardly 100 meters away...

Negative: Not clean enough. Under bed was dusty and had rubbish. The air-conditioning wasn't functioning well, really slow to start to feel the cool air(not really cool). The faucet was leaking. The door for the bathroom was really hard to close. And the only mirror provided was the one in the bathroom. Positive: hair shampoo and body soap were provided (two tiny bottles). We got the spacy room so it was quite convenient for Muslims to pray. But the smaller room was just enough to fit for one person to pray. The bathroom was quite clean, and the heater worked well.

It is indeed a very old hotel, the lobby is very tall, but the rooms are really hard to describe! I booked a twin room on the first floor. The decoration of the whole room was too old, and all the facilities were old and broken. It felt like it was twenty years ago. The bathroom smelled like sewers. The partition next to the bathtub was still a wooden shutter door, which was transparent. Light and smelly! The mattress is low and soft, and the room itself is very high, making the person sleeping on the bed look...
