Grand Lodge Langkawi — Hotel in Langkawi Island

FYI this place is self check-in. There is no front desk or reception. I spent 15 minutes looking for one and wandered around to the other houses in the complex but they’re all residentials. There’s a QR code that says self check in but it just takes you to a form on a malaysian government website and doesn’t do anything.

You need to call the local number listed on google maps and someone should pick up and tell you the lockbox code for you to go inside.

Better instructions would’ve been helpful. Other than that I had a good stay - the place is very clean and super spacious - you basically get a whole 2-floor suite to yourself! It’s also very fully equipped (shampoo, bodywash, hairdryer, fans, AC, TV, kitchen with dishware and utensils, food, fridge, ironing...

Located near to Langkawi Airport, a clean, new & quiet cottage located in a village. Quite hard to be found during the night due to lack of lighting & landmark. However the host was kind & attentive enough.

Recommended to travel by car or else you gonna find it hard for you to pin the location of the homestay in Grab because the location is not (yet) available in Grab maps. Hope the host improve from this perspective soon! Overall a good & exceptional stay. Recommended...

Loved this place. Note - it’s out in the country, not close to attractions or the beach - you need to use Grab to get anywhere. BUT it’s a great slice of local life - friendly locals riding past on their motor scooters, Sunday night markets within walking distance, roadside stalls and restorans, and you can hear morning prayers from the mosque across the fields.
