The price for one night was a grand total of 250 RM; which overlooked the sea. In my opinion, the cost would have been much more reasonably suited around 180 - 200Rm (MAX); even lower during the slow season. This is, of course, my opinion based on staying at several hotels all over the island. The front desk was very friendly. The beach cleanliness was about par; considering a bulk of the public beaches were subject to a certain amount of pollution (plastic containers, etc.) The view was breathtaking, minus the power plant to the left of the beach; which continuously blew out smoke throughout the day and night. The bathroom was small and a bit complicated to understand how to turn on the low-pressure and not-so-hot water. Cleanliness was below average, and the air conditioner never blew cold the entire time. Walls could use a coat of paint. Internet was very spotty, as they could use some more routers spread around the few units. Not that you come there for television, but there were only a few channels. None of which were in English, the pro is they were many music channels to choose from. *WiFi was decent all around the hotel.

The location is excellent, it is few steps from beach and the best part is there are very few people around the beach specially on weekdays it feels like a private beach. I like the sound of waves at night. The room is reasonable and you can eat at scarborough fish and chips right next to the chalet (a very nice place opens from 10am to 10pm). Communication with the owner is very easy and response is very quick. Highly recommended for a relaxing time. The place is best for relaxing but you must need a car or bike (its very easy to get a car in Langkawi and I loved driving around the island). There are no shop around on walking distance only two eating place you can access without car are Scarborough fish & chips and Martini Restaurant (local food). Although I didn't care but there are no english channels on Television. AC was not strong but it will get comfortable after 10 to 15 minutes. One last thing is there were only Type G sockets in the room but Ms Rose provided us extension for our mobile chargers.

The Primrose is in a fantastic location if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist area. Pretty much has its own private beach. The downside to that is the closest little town is a 20 minute walk or you have to go to the other side of the island for anything modern. The rooms are alright. If you are on the street side, there are constant people revving their motors at 3 am and the walls and door have zero sound proofing. You must wear ear plugs which is really annoying in a private room. Also, the street side balcony just looks at a street and the rooms are meh. The AC is amazing and the bed was alright. Shower in the toilet is very annoying as everything gets soaked and the airflow in the bathroom is bad. I would stay again if it was on the beach side, but I would avoid the roadside as it’s just too noisy.

Location, location, location!!! Gorgeous view right out front. The accommodation is basic and a little tired in places but who cares when you have the beach at your front door and you can hear the sound of the waves crashing. You may need ear plugs for sleeping though, 39db do the job, you can get them on EBay. Slippers are provided but they're paper thin, theres a wetroom shower set up with rainfall showerhead which is good enough, a fridge, kettle, iron, ironing board and a few other bits. WiFi is provided, it's not fast but it's ok. The TV has mainly Malaysian channels so we streamed Netflix which worked fine. The beds and pillows are comfy. Tge air con works but it takes a while to cool the room down enough. I was prepared for bugs being so close to the beach but we had none. The local mozi patrol (cute little lizards) do a great job ! There is a brilliant restaurant (Scarborough Fish & Chips, reviewed separately) right next door that serve a good variation of meals. Just up the road (a 5 min drive is Tanjung Rhu beach which is worth a look but no better than the beach at Primrose. You may see Macaques on the way and if youre really lucky the cutest monkey ever, the dusky leaf. On a Friday there is a night Market just over the roundabout which is pretty interesting, some of the food on offer looked amazing, some of it really didn't!! Primrose is also conveniently located for visiting Kilim Geoforest Park. A visit there is a must, use Dev's Adventure Tours (also reviewed separately) you won't regret it. Driving on Langkawi is easy. Even from this end of the island the likes of the Skyway, Seven Wells, Croc Farm and Eagle Sq are less than half hour away. We've driven around the entire island and weren't impressed with the heavily touristy areas, they're just like Blackpool but in...

Let me start sharing my experience stating that this is one place you don't want to miss out when you are in Langkawi. Plan your stay there and you will be welcomed with open sea facing rooms with the sea waves just 20 mtrs away from your balcony. These are kind of row houses and open air sitting arrangements available outside. This property is listed in booking.com as well and does come with a reasonable price. ||||They can arrange for scooter on rent which is the best means of transportation in Langkawi. Full tank will be RM 5 or 6 (RM is their currency). You do get cars as well and based on your convenience. I would not call this is as boutique hotel but it does come with most of amenities required in toilet and bedroom as well, plus with AC and very comfortable bed. It is a very quite place and you will love the soothing wave sounds in evening. And if you are an early riser, you will be able to collect lot of colourful rocks in the morning along the beach. ||||Another plus point is you will get a very good restaurant right next to Primrose. The name is Scarborough. It is also an iconic place as one of scenes of bollywood movie "Roy" was shot there. And you do get very tasty food there. You do get duty free shops and in case you plan to buy something, please do carry passport. ||||Airport is approx 13 km from Primrose. Eagle Square, a famous destination is around 15 km from Primrose. This is the official address for Primrose - Jalan Tanjung Rhu, 07000 Langkawi, Kedah. Enjoy the place and hope you would have similar reviews and...
