Posting this review is a difficult task because our staying at Labu Labi has been very pleasant, leaving nice memories for our last part of the holiday in Langkawi. The beach in front of the resort is very pretty and clean. Every room has its view in front of it. You open the door of the room and the sea is literally in front of you, only 15 meters of sand far from your door. The place is quiet and much better than the crowded Chenang where hundreds of jetski's are constantly brooming in the sea. Few tourist and all nice and quiet. There are few restaurants not far from the place, all serving nice food. However if I have to make a review without any bias, I cannot give a higher rate in my review. If someone would ask me about Labu Labi I can say that the building is ok. I understand that the rate per night is due mainly to the prime position in front of the sea. However considering the price, I believe that the rooms would need to be in better conditions which means better quality and better designed. Instead they are a bit soulless. There is not a closet, just an open cabinet and no decoration at all. They look a bit old.. The doors are a bit rusty, the window could not be open because there was a message written that it was broken. The hangers outside to dry the clothes are a bit old as well The AC was also a bit dated, not being very cold and the last night was almost not working. There is no Wi-Fi in the rooms, only a slow one in the lobby. The common area is quite basic The breakfast is not included in the price and what available is very simple and quite limited: scramble eggs, fried eggs sunny side or omelette. These types of eggs with either sausage or jam. It is also necessary to take into account more or less 30 minutes for the breakfast to arrive after ordering even though the resort was not busy. We also got advantage of the laundry service. It was nice and well done. I brought two full loads in the morning and the afternoon after they were ready and folded in front of our room. So this is my honest review. My remarks are purely based on the price. It is not a problem to pay a certain rate, but if the room costs such price, it is expected that some details are taken into account. However, if you are looking for a nice location, in a VERY remote part of the island, without having expectations for amenities and services but only with the will to enjoy a quiet beach and wake up every morning in front of the sea and a lovely landscape, this is definitely the place to be. Madame Liza, is fantastic and she is a great host. She is super careful and friendly always with a lovely smile. Thanks to her our staying has been nice and pleasant and one day I would be happy...

Positives: Perfect beachside location at the fraction of the price of the surrounding resorts. This place is a steaaaaal and I could not believe we were sharing the same strip of beach as luxury hotels! So lovely and picturesque.
The beach quality was definitely one of the best in Langkawi. Mostly sandy and turquoise waters. Really really impressed and I've been to a few fantastic beaches in my time. No stingers at the time and free of pollution! Pretty still and not a lot of waves if you're into that.
Very spacious family room. We did not feel too cramped, with some space between the beds, and there was plenty of floor space for everybody's luggage. The bathroom was also pretty big.
Cannot fault the staff! Everybody was so friendly and warm. We even got some complimentary grilled seafood a couple of times as we were hanging by the beach drinking, which was a very nice surprise.
Great eating options nearby despite being quite far from the town. We tried the Scarborough Fish n Chips, with great calamari and decent fish (for an Australian), amazing cheap Malay nasi campur, and an equally brilliant Thai seafood place. All within a 10 min walk. Did not personally try the in-hotel restaurant but heard from roommate it was good.
Also convenient store less than 10 min walk past the Thai restaurant with cheap drinks and snacks
Easy to order a Grab to and from, around 20-30 MYR to Cenang. 40-45 MYR with regular taxi.
Other great stuff: They have beer and sheesha at the hotel bar Luggage storage available Great idea with installing taps outside the door to wash sand off before entering the room. Cute as hell resort dogs around (just FYI for some Muslims, I'm Muslim but I loved them lol) They have not one but TWO water dispensers!!! Really easy to refill your own bottles or the giant 1.5 L single use ones. Go Green Langkawi!
Negatives: Lack of transport options, not fantastic to base yourself off in Langkawi if you're not renting your own scooter / car. We just hung out at the resort as we were looking to have a quiet one and weren't interested in exploring but it might be off-putting to others. Please clean up the exterior entrance foyer thing guys... It's not a great first impression. A power wash will do. Thankfully the rest of the hotel was way cleaner. Not the hotel's fault but sometimes the beach can get clay-y / muddy due to the tidal currents, this happened on our first day but...

Staying at Nazrat Residence was like stepping into a dream. Our private chalet offered direct, unobstructed access to the beach—just a few steps from our door to the sea, with no barriers in between. The room was spacious, simply furnished, and featured a large, very comfortable bed. It wasn’t luxurious, but it was more than enough for our needs and added to the relaxed, authentic charm of the place.
The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, always greeting us with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The location itself was magical—breathtaking views, stunning sunsets, and the soothing sound of waves just meters away. The outdoor water tap on the terrace was a thoughtful touch, perfect for rinsing off sandy feet after a swim.
Nearby, a small town offered plenty of options for massages and dining, yet the peaceful atmosphere of Nazrat Residence remained undisturbed by tourist crowds. We rented scooters for just a few ringgit and explored the island—swimming in waterfall lagoons, relaxing on hidden beaches, and discovering the natural beauty of Langkawi.
This tranquil part of the island was truly a balm for the soul, and all of it came at a very reasonable price. If we had more time, we would have gladly stayed longer. A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Liza for making our stay so special.
The lack of Wi-Fi in the room didn’t bother us at all—local SIM cards with unlimited data are very affordable. Perhaps a simple sun lounger would enhance the experience, but that’s just a minor detail in an otherwise...
