Despite the reviews about the location of the place, we still found it quite hard to locate. From the main road there was a sign that showed you which small road to take. But after that, there were no further roadsign that directed you to its exact place. It is the last compound on the left before you hit the beach. (IM not sure if that helped any.) Anyway, but it was kind of worth the visit. The food was quite good. It tasted like legit western food. The hot beverages as well. (We were the only non-western patrons at the place at that time.) So, I guess the place had the stamp of approval by both eastern and western foodies.😬 The only not-so-good thing was they were understaffed when we went that we had to go down go the ground level (cashier and kitchen and some tables) to chase up our orders, and once prepared, we had to bring it up ourselves as there were not enough people there to bus tables. I don't think it was a normal occurence, though. There were just 1 or 2 in the kitchen and only 1 to make the drinks, take the order, bus tables and man the till. It was very open air, so if you're a mozzie (ie. mosquito) -magnet, be...
Read moreI had a horrible experience at this restaurant. I ordered roasted chicken with mashed potatoes, but the chicken was dry and completely inedible (it looked like it had been cooked at least a week ago), and the mashed potatoes were really cold. I sent the dish back to the waitress.
I went to see what was going on, and the manager was extremely disrespectful, telling me that I had to pay because I had already eaten from the dish. I refused, of course, because with the plate still in front of me, I told him that this was not something you could serve—it had clearly been cooked at least a week ago. He raised his voice and said, “If I can eat it, you have to pay.” I was completely shocked by that response.
After this unpleasant incident, he finally said, “Okay, I’ll pay for you.”
In conclusion, an overrated place. They try to seem “fancy,” but they clearly aren’t.
I would like also to say that the rest of my friends were satisfied with...
Read moreThe Kelapa Cafe in Langkawi is a delightful spot that offers a serene ambiance, excellent food, and a memorable dining experience. Nestled amidst lush greenery, the cafe’s laid-back vibe perfectly complements the island’s charm.
The food is the star of the show here—each dish is thoughtfully prepared, using fresh ingredients that highlight the best of local and international flavors. We tried their Chicken Sando and the Signature Nasi Lemak, it was delicious and tasted really fresh.
However, the service does have room for improvement. While the staff is friendly and welcoming, the waiting time for food can be longer than expected. That said, the quality of the food makes the wait worthwhile, and the peaceful surroundings help ease the impatience.
Overall, The Kelapa Cafe is a fantastic choice for those looking to enjoy great food in a tranquil setting. Just be prepared for a leisurely pace, and you’ll have a...
