The good news first : great location! Literally by the coastline. McDonaldâs, Starbucks, Kenny Rogers Roasters, a Halal Chinese Seafood Restaurant, a huge supermarket, a Food Truck park with live music (and bad singing) all next door to hotel. Stayed in the Premier Suite. Room was decently decorated and quite up-to-date fixtures and furniture. Room cleanliness was low-key ok. Nice sea view from room. Aircon was powerful and cold. Water pressure in shower was not good enough. Now, the bad news : this hotel/apartment complex is en route to becoming a completely decrepit establishment in a yearâs time if they donât step things up. Looks are deceiving on the outside - the exterior, the ground level is renovated and quite clean. The reception lobby on level 3 looks clean and decent too. But from level 3 onwards itâs a stark contrast! The 2 apartment blocks have paint peeling off (something you canât view from the outside) and has weathered badly. The floors are dirty from neglect. No one mops the floors. The lift is usually wet from the people and kids who use the pool, sometimes it create a some ponding inside the lifts and itâs a little scary because there no form of enforcement/advisory/warning from the hotel to tell their guests to adequately dry themselves before entering the lift. Think water damaged lift floorboards and electrocution. Inside the lift there is no display to indicate which floor has been reached. You gotta look at the floor button you pressed; if light goes off, youâve arrived at your desired floor. The common corridors are all dirty, with dried up spillages of the past coupled with the pool-water drippings from the people who use the pool. The housekeeping guys do not clean well; even in my presence they didnât bother to sweep the floor clean as dirt rolled under the sofa as a result of their indifferent work ethic. He then washed the cups and plates with bare hands and water. No dishwashing liquid or sponges were used. There are three pools in this place. The main pool is murky and needs maintenance. The other two pools have clear water and you see the tiles. Refer to the attached pics of the pool. And some of the local guestsâ kids were swimming in the buff so you can use your imagination here. Breakfast was meh⌠coffee was horrid. Nasi Lemak had no peanuts or ikan bilis served with it. The coconut rice and sambal was alright though. Other breakfast items were sub-standard. Nothing enticing for kids. Tried breakfast once and skipped the other days. I mean you shouldnât tout yourself as a 4-star hotel and have 2-star standards right? TL;DR - itâs alright if cleanliness is no big matter to you and your expectations are low. Itâs still borderline ok for now but give it another year (June 2023), this place is on en route to becoming...
Read moreI am not sure the if management will see this, hoping they do so they can maybe upgrade it a little. Overall, our stay was quite disappointing. Firstly, I feel that the word 'hotel' used in their name is a little misleading, as clearly it's an apartment concept. Staff are friendly, helpful but have no hospitality quality in my opinion. They didn't seem to understand that when we call for something from housekeeping or front desk, it would most probably mean we need it now rather than 5 hours later. Front desk would asked me to recall another department on my own rather than a standard transfer. My total bill for one night's stay is equivalent to a night stay at a 3 star resort hotel. But environment and atmosphere doesn't even come close. Density is too high for 2 lifts. My poor parents had to wait 3 rounds just to get to the lobby, and my dad is in a wheelchair. Density is too high for one restaurant to provide breakfast. I feel horrible having to hoard cutleriers and food, but i also feel that I had to because for the money I paid I felt entitiled to not having wait for an hour just to get breakfast. It's not the price or the quality of the food, but if you make it an add on when I pay for my room, I will expect something I paid for. There were at least 50 or 60 people lining up for one dish at one go, and women just grabbing food from behind you and that is not hotel standard. You cannot sell more than you can supply. Wall so thin, I could hear conversations from my next door neighbors. Children running and screaming down the hallway. Echo is so bad that it's travelling upwards and I feel bad for the units above me. Lifts are all wet and I don't see janitors anywhere. When we got in the room, coffee stains were found on the couch and the floor was so dusty.
It was a frustrating stay. Nice cozy Reno but it doesn't make up for it. I booked based on the name 'hotel' because I may wanna enjoy hotel like service. If I knew it was an apartment concept and its priced like one, I would expect what I booked for. Will I revisit? I don't think so. Will i recommend to others? Well, if they r looking for an apartment stay and they don't expect service at all thenmaybe this would be...

The DWharf Hotel in Port Dickson offers a prime location, nestled close to the bustling PD Waterfront City, a lively area filled with restaurants, shops, and various entertainment choices. What makes this hotel truly special is its private beach and garden, creating a peaceful haven for guests to unwind and soak in the picturesque surroundings. The rooms, particularly the bedrooms, are notably spacious and provide a comforting retreat. The hotel boasts three different pools, thoughtfully designed for adults, kids, and toddlers, ensuring fun for all ages. Each room also features a charming sea view, adding to the overall appeal.
Signs of fungus on the walls indicate that itâs time for a fresh coat of paint. The roomâs amenities are quite rudimentary, which may not meet the expectations of guests looking for something extra. It seems to be a case of getting what you pay for; with the roomâs pricing, the current offerings are perhaps unsurprising. The sound insulation leaves much to be desired; noise easily slips through the crevices around the connecting room doors. This can become intolerable i had loud neighbors, as there is little to buffer the disturbance.
Port Dickson offers a selection of attractions, but it may not boast the extensive variety that larger, more famous seaside resorts provide. It has a range of water-based activities, but it doesnât quite match the diversity in entertainment, dining, and shopping found in some other destinations.
That being said, the charm of a place often lies in personal preference. For those seeking a tranquil escape, the serene and laid-back vibe of Port Dickson might be exactly whatâs needed, contrasting sharply with the hustle and bustle of more commercialized resorts.
Itâs important to remember that every destination has something unique to offer, and the true essence of a place is best discovered through personal experience. While Port Dickson might not have struck a chord with me as the ideal seaside retreat, it could be the perfect getaway for those looking for a more peaceful and relaxing...
