Hotel Raub — Hotel in Pahang

Stayed here a year ago and was very impressed with this small town hotel. This time the general amenities provided are still there: in-room coffee/tea, free wifi (slow), toiletries, cable tv, good hot water shower, aircon working well, etc. Message sent earlier on check in day indicating the location of the hotel in Google Maps was a nice touch. The let down was the cleanliness of the room. It was poor. Strands of hair strewn about the very dusty floor and carpet. Room smelled very musty when we entered. And the bathroom grouting was getting very mouldy. The bathroom we had this time failed to confine the water to the shower area.||||I was able to secure a parking space each time I returned to the hotel but birds roosting above made all cars parked in front their targets.||||Front desk reception was friendly and efficient as before. Hope improvements in housekeeping can be made to keep this hotel the best in Raub in my opinion. Will come back to stay, hoping...

Don't be fooled by the street view around hotel either you check on Google street view or upon arrival. In fact the location is rather strategic whereby you can find banks, 24 hours convenient shop, car workshop, food court center etc just around it. Room price is reasonable judging from the room facility which is comfortable and pretty clean. I can tell this hotel used to be very old before renovation as certain interior design still visible which is signature for old fashion, but doesn't bother me. Tip for travellers, don't bring along overweight baggages due to no elevator in hotel. Suggesting that hotel management to consider for lighting improvement which is rather dim...

Raub hotel is a clean & neat hotel. Like the cleaniness. Booked a family room which was quite spacious but our disappointment the beds & pillows was so hard. The noise from the vehicles at the main road was quite noisy. If you are a light sleeper, you won't be able to sleep well. Luckily my family & I was able to sleep due to tiredness of our outings. Another thing, this hotel doesn't have a lift, elderly guests can ask for first floor staying if they are unable to climb the flight of stairs.
