I want to share an honest and real experience, an absolute frustration and disappointment with the horrific service I received from OYO Hotels.
I booked and fully paid for a room through Agoda, only to arrive and be told at the last minute that the hotel was overbooked. As if that weren’t bad enough, they gave my prepaid room to a walk-in guest, a clear violation of trust and professionalism. If a hotel accepts a booking and payment, it is expected that a room will be available upon arrival.
Instead of taking responsibility and arranging alternative accommodation at another OYO property, the hotel staff had the audacity to tell us to call OYO customer service ourselves to sort it out. This is not only unprofessional but a complete failure in basic hospitality.
What’s even more infuriating is that I was left waiting on hold for over an hour, trying to reach OYO’s so-called “customer service.” When I finally got through, the operator was shockingly rude, disrespectful, and completely unhelpful. He did not even offer an apology and kept arguing back whenever I tried to explain how wrong it was to ask us to handle the situation ourselves. It got even worse when he raised his voice at me, making the experience even more frustrating. Instead of taking action and resolving the issue, he simply informed me that all nearby OYO hotels were fully booked and that there was nothing they could do. To top it all off, he even blamed Agoda for the situation, refusing to take any responsibility. I was then told to call Agoda myself—once again, shifting responsibility instead of fixing the mess OYO created.
Adding insult to injury, Agoda’s attempt at “compensation” was an insulting $1.33 USD—a laughable and pathetic amount considering the hours of stress, the last-minute struggle to find a place to stay, and the fact that this happened at 11 PM, leaving us stranded with nowhere to check in.
There was zero accountability, zero effort to help, and not even a basic apology from OYO. This is by far the worst hotel management I have ever encountered. The sheer incompetence, lack of responsibility, and complete disregard for customers...

Only to find out that they only had 1 room left which is 1 queen bed but there were 3 of us (i booked and PAID ALREADY for a room with 1 queen bed and 1 single bed) and the staff had no solution for us, from their reaction and facial expressions literally screams ‘it’s not my problem’ and they expected us to just accept the room but katanya tengah repair aircond IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. Masing masing buat muka toya je as if nothing happened, not even once did they say SORRY. Instead, they kept on blaming OYO saying that the system is troubling them but little did they know, THEY were troubling us as well as it was already bedtime but 0 solutions were given, they expected us to think for ourselves, while the dude click click his PC as if that’s gonna help. Apparently he said he was “checking if anyone is checking out” LOL at 10pm???? Siap menjawab my dad pulak tu, super rude ya. Give me my money back!! Whole room is crockcoache. Small and big like whole families stay with me in the room. Floor also very dirty. Towels also very smelly. Even their hair and body shampoo also mixing with water. How could it.
I check in at 7pm at I am check out at 10am in the same day. After I complained to reception. He also admitted the room has so much crockcoache. And replied me nothing that he can do, how could it, you should refund me the money.
You should improve your hotel quality. How can you admitted the the mistake without thinking to resolve it.
From the picture , we were thought that the hotel room is clean,. but in fact , the cleanliness of room is totally different from the picture.
