My partner had chosen Ming Paragon as our home for 3 nights in Kuala Terengganu as it was centrally located & close to many places of interest. It proved to be a good decision as much research had taken place prior to our holiday.||Our flight had arrived in mid-morning. But since check-in was at 2:00 pm, we had brunch first & visited 2 places of interest to kill time. We arrived at the hotel just before 2:00 pm & parked the car in front of Ming Paragon as we were not aware that the hotel’s parking was behind the building. We had also used a parking app to pay for the street parking.||Check-in was fast & hassle-free. There was no porter or concierge service as this is a 3-star hotel. We carried our luggage ourselves. Our room was on the 1st floor. It was smaller than I expected. However, it was decent & clean. The mattress was not as comfortable but the strategic location more than made up for it. The air-conditioning was good & at least there was floor space for us to pray.||The bathroom was a good size. The water pressure was equally good. Best of all, it was equipped with a hand-bidet. That was a pleasant surprise as it was a Chinese hotel to begin with & I half expected it not to have one. The shower gel, shampoo & conditioner smelled good too. A hair-dryer was also available.||WiFi was available & complimentary. However, the TV reception wasn’t good. There was much interference. Since we were mostly outdoors, it didn’t bother us so much. Although there was no refrigerator, there was a coffee & tea-making facility. A central fridge was available in the lobby. Hence, we had left our food in their chiller.||We had parked at the hotel’s designated parking in the evening. A security guard watches over our car free of charge as it was complimentary for hotel guests. ||We will definitely stay again whenever we are in Terengganu as Ming Paragon Hotel had met our...

Positive experience: 1- Spacious parking at the back 2- Welcoming receptionist 3- Strategic location
Negative experience: 1- Rats-infested room. We booked 4 rooms in total, and one was affected. We had some snacks left on the dressing and came back to a messy room with RATS DROPLETS on both beds. We hurriedly contacted the person incharge and it took them 20-30mins to arrive. Upon their arrival, they were kinda expecting that as if that wasnt the first time it happened/ they have been trying to catch the rat(s). They came prepared with the rat traps. All rooms were booked including standby rooms so we had to squeeze 3 person in one room (2 twin beds). 2- In the middle of the chaos to sort out the rat situation, the other room had the key sensor malfunctioned. So funny & shady that this room is next to the rat-infested room. They were locked out of the room and also had to wait for the person in charge to arrive. 3- Price-wise: Not worth it. The hallway was narrow, and the rooms were small. With the price we paid via Booking.com, we were expecting decent accommodations. We paid RM233.64/night. Some of my friends that had been to Oyo Hotel said that this hotel is giving the same vibe as Oyo. 4- In the rat-infested room, the aircond wasn’t functioning well as it was kinda warm compared to the other 3 rooms we booked. It has thermostat directly on the aircond as opposed to remote-controlled aircond on the other rooms.
Bottomline: Come here if you dont mind the hit-or-miss experience. Location-wise, very nice to go around with short commute to...
Read moreJust want to share on the recent stay at this really nightmare hotel, booking was on the 12 Feb to 14 Feb 2025, had book a total of 2 rooms.
Room 2011 safe no battery was not able to use. Room 2012 no safe found in the room. Both room dusty table top counter (Dust not a one day accumulation) Room 2012 found multiple pest on the table top and on the bed. As per hotel front desk it stated there is a 24hr front desk service, but no staff was found and it only to call this number if there was any issue. Switch On the make up room signage but was met with an unexpected joke by the hotel engineering saying the signage was spoilt and front desk was not able to see and we did not make up the room. Was only informed to place the make up room tag on the door but room 2011, tag was no where to be found. Front desk services was very poor and no standard in the service industries. In the middle on the night roughly around 2am room was met with a black out and had to switch on ourselves as front desk was empty and staff was no where to be found. After when back up found out that there was individual switch board in every room had to turn it on ourselves. Met with modly patches and discolouration walls.
Overall stay was pretty much a joke if you call...
