LIked this hotel. Used it twice in December 2018. It's one of those classic concrete wonders from the 1970s. Very basic here, perhaps too basic for many Americans. But if so, that is a shame . . . because it is in an authentic Mexican area of Cancun, very safe, friendly staff, and what I consider to be a great location . . . away from the tourism zoo out on the hotel strip. Walkable to/from the bus station (you do want to print a good map, though, because the roads around here curve lots). Why go to Cancun and just be around other Americans? Why spend $70-90 per night when you can have a much more authentic experience for a fraction of the price? This hotel DOES do something a little strange . . . it takes cash only (Mexican pesos). I booked on a website and, though it appeared that they might charge my credit card, they were honest and did not (I do wish their staff would write "pagado" on the receipt instead of "deposito" though). There's a great Yucatanese outdoor restaurant down the street near the Oxxo. Felt like I was actually in Mexico...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE!!! There are much better options in downtown Cancun than this disgusting dirty and unprofessional place. ||We stayed here for just one night as we were coming from holbox and needed to take an early morning flight. Everything went well until the next day when we found that the mattress cover had a brown spot with what looked like fecal matter or something. We didn't make a big deal as we were in a hurry to get our flight at 5am. But then I got riped off by the attendant..||We asked if he could help us get a taxi to the airport and how much it would cost. he said that he could but it would cost me 350MXN and we innocently agreed. Later on I found out that a regular taxi would cost me only 100 to 150 pesos. The taxi driver had gone back to the hotel when he picked us up, so of course the attendant got a portion of the huge ripoff we got. Unfortunately this is how they all get the...
Read moreThe interiors are very old, you can see old stains on the ground and some on towels and blankets but overall it was still a clean place! The staff only spoke Spanish so make sure you brush up on your Spanish skills and beware of slow wifi.||눇The location was good enough where taxi rides would range from 30-50 pesos each, and close enough to walk to a couple markets and restaurants. There was a water jug on each floor so we were able to fill our water bottles everyday. The room was a little dark but we were able to sleep just fine. My favorite part of the place would probably be the shower head, it looked brand new and had good pressure! The pricing was great for what...
