We arrived on Sunday at 4pm to extraordinarily loud music. The music was so loud that we could not converse at all with the receptionist. I am not clear, but it appears that the restaurant associated with the hotel was holding some sort of concert in the shared patio/pool deck. The pool was full of local folks with their kids, large beer bongs were on the tables, outrageously loud music was being performed live. The vocalist (a term I use somewhat loosely) was accompanied by 2 scantily clad women dancing in a provocative manner.||||We took things to our room, directly above the loud party. We couldn't escape the noise there either. I think it may have been even louder. We turned on the air conditioner and took our swimsuits to go find somewhere else to hang out.||||The room is outdated, the sheets felt like they had sand in them. The TV worked, the lights worked, bathroom was fully functional and clean. Provided with one roll of toilet paper, 2 small bars of soap, 2 bottles of shampoo, and 2 bath towels. No hand towels, no wash cloths, no tissues, no cup. There was a bottled water station out in the hallway, but the water was empty.||||We found a deal for this room at $30 US for the night. At this price, it was adequate. I have had much better experiences at Motel 6 for similar cost. I would not pay more than that for a room here, especially since it was so noisy.||||Our room adjoined another room. The lock and door was flimsy, we could easily have unlocked the door from our side and gone into the other room. This disturbed me, because the other guests could do the same. Due to the poor quality of doors and workmanship, there are huge gaps in the doorways. Air conditioning is not maximally efficient and there is almost no dampening of sounds. All night long obnoxious people were talking loudly and coming and going in the hallway.||||Though the concert outside was done when we returned at 8pm to sleep, there was some sort of dance club nearby with loud music too. The noise was clearly audible in our room with everything closed. I thought they would chill after the evening time since it was Sunday night and things usually close earlier. This was not the case. The loud dance music continued until 4 am. I had to get up at 5:30. I enjoyed about 2 hours of sleep all together. Had it not been for the terrible noise it might have been ok for the night, but this was probably one of my worst hotel experiences and I have stayed at some colorful places.||||WI FI was slow and typically Mexican-- it cuts in and out, drops signal, and is...

Read moreCheck-in Dec 13, 2016, 11pm. Check-out Dec 14, 2016, 5am. Pros: Friendly staff. Decent location. Cons: rooms are dilapidated, old, and ugly. It feels like a cheap motel. The entire hotel is humid. One of the air-conditioning units in the room did not work. Windows cracked, held together with packing tape. Taxis outside hotel not permitting use of Ubers. Unless you are used to staying at cheap hostels (think teenagers backpacking on a budget), this place will not cut it.
This room was a freebie from Orbitz when i booked a flight. I would never spend more than $50usd for this type of room, and only if an emergency. If they're going to charge you $130 per night, I'd suggest paying a bit more and staying at a quality hotel.
The taxi system: c'mon, get it together Mexico. The taxi system is run like a mafia, with certain groups of taxis "servicing" certain areas. I wanted to hire a particular taxi to pick me up in the morning, for a set price of 200pesos, he was more than willing, but he said that he could not because other taxi groups were in charge of "servicing" the area directly in front of the hotel. The result of this monopoly is that those taxis waiting outside the hotel will charge you 50-100% more than what other independent drivers would. I paid 350 pesos for a drive that would've cost 200 pesos from another taxi driver, and that would have cost even less had I used Uber. The hotels discourage the use of Ubers, because of the heavy hand of the Mexican taxi union, i.e., taxi mafia. I expect in the future competition will eventually win out over these artificial monopolies created by the...
