I'll start with the positive. The location of the hotel was perfect for us and the things we wanted to do in Chetumal. We have parking available for free. The rooms were clean, comfortable, had hot water, AC's that worked, perfect water pressure, and the toilets flushed properly. ||The negative. Whoever was the front desk staff on shift in the morning during July 29 - 30 was rather impersonable and rude. It felt that when she understood that we were Belizeans, her mood and attitude changed. We came to see if we were able to have a slightly early check in (if it wasn't possible that's understandable), however, she was very stark in her response saying no - 3pm - no flexibility. So we left. We came back and another front desk staff was there. She was nice and accomodated us and treated us well. There was some mix up with the rooms being available but we sorted it out. ||The following morning before heading out for breakfast we went down to confirm the check out time given our first response on day one with checking in. We were told we can stay until 12. We went to do our rounds and came back. Upon checking out, my mother went to check out as I didn't want to deal with the rude front desk staff - she is hispanic and was told that we can get a receipt, but because the reservation is in my name I had to go for it. After entering and asking for the receipt, the rude front desk staff mention "oh you are Belizean so you don't need anything." ||I left and didn't argue because I had it with her rudeness and attitude. The facilities are nice but your staff needs training and better cusotmer service. Also, I'm not one for any type of racisim. I'm not sure what Belizeans have done to your place in the past, but I will not be staying here again knowing how we...
Read moreWe stayed here overnight as we were getting the ferry from Chetumal to Belize the next day and wanted something within walking distance of the ferry terminal. It was a perfectly adequate hotel. Here are a few of my thoughts on the specifics.||* LOCATION - Located around 700m from the ferry terminal so within walking distance to same.|* HOT WATER - Worked fine for us|* SECURITY - Door and windows locked|* WIFI - Worked fine but the annoying thing is rather than give you a wifi password they give you a specific code that needs to be put into the system. The problem with this is two fold (1) It only lasts 2 days (so you need to get another one after 48 hours (2) It only allows you to connect one device to the wifi (Ie you cannot connect a iPad and iPhone using the same code, I tried).|* ROOMS - The room was clean. It had comfortable beds and the air conditioning worked well.||Overall our stay was perfectly adequate for purpose. This hotel lacked any degree of sex appeal as the place was a bit dated but all was serviceable which is all I guess one can expect from the limited options available...
Read moreFirst of all, the price is cheap. Compared to other hotels in the area, you can’t beat it. But you get what you pay for. Our room was ok. Beds were great. Super soft. Bathroom was decent. Ac was old and could use maintenance. My son suffers from allergies and he wouldn’t stop sneezing in the room. The ac air filter could use some cleaning as that’s the only reason my son’s allergies would act up. Parking is first come first served so if they are full you will have to park outside on the street. The location is great. It’s near most places so you can get around quickly. There were several instances where we made requests and the front desk helped us out but not before making a face like it was an inconvenience. We did not appreciate that. This is our second time staying here and we only stayed because a friend told us the place had changed. That was not the case. We probably won’t stay here again. I recommend checking out fiesta inn or...
