I never got there. On my 10 hour trip via Estrella de Oro bus line from Mexico City to Zihuatanejo, Julian inexplicably and crazily cancelled my stay.
I had told him while fighting to book my trip on the VRBO website, that I had experienced numerous issues that I believed were possibly caused by A.I..
I have worked for between 25 - 30 years in medical technology/computers, as a software development and software developer at the same time as I worked as a professional Classical Violinist, having studied with Itzhak Perlman, but I guess it triggered the very common male instinct to put down and eject any woman who says she has done the things she says she has.
I have fought my entire life against those Neanderthal attitudes.
I was about to say that Julian started DEMANDING that I drop anything to do with my current life and plans to retire and send him screen shots of what I had seen and start WORKING!!!
I could hardly believe it.
So I dropped my plan to stay at Escondite Zihuatanejo while getting acquainted with Zihuatanejo and took up very kind offers of totally helpful, kind professional gentlemen - taxi drivers who were at the Zihuatanejo bus terminal. They didn't have plans to marry me nor I them - we are ALL brothers and sisters - imagine that! The men here consulted with their hotel owning friends and found me a place in town which had availability, comfort and convenience - all at 12:45 am- so that I can eventually recover from this nightmarish experience and settle into my new home. The reply this man, Julian Smith, gave to my review is a malicious lie, proving he is a total misogynistic danger to single women and all women. Why would I falsely malign a man who I never met and who I paid and trusted because it seemed he and VRBOare trustworthy. There is no honesty nor humanity in either of those places. Go check out the reviews for VRBO and you will see. As my Norwegian grandmother used to say, " Fie Fanskap!" "Work...
Read moreOur four-week stay at Casitas El Escondite in Zihuatanejo this past January was great. From the moment we booked, communication with Julian, our host, was seamless and efficient.
The geodesic dome provided a cozy and comfortable atmosphere, and we particularly enjoyed the outdoor space with its abundance of greenery and terrace incorporating a kitchen and dining area, perfect for peaceful mornings with coffee without disturbing late risers. The well-equipped kitchen met all of our cooking needs.
The location couldn't have been more perfect for us, with a mere five-minute walk to the relaxing La Ropa beach. Convenience was key during our stay, and having an Oxxo store just steps away was incredibly handy. The nearby transit system, with a stop practically at our front door, made exploring the area easy and affordable.
Julian's hospitality was exceptional, as he was always available to answer questions or offer helpful tips and recommendations.
Overall, our experience at Casitas El Escondite was very good, and we would certainly return for another stay in the future. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a tranquil and convenient getaway in...
Read moreI had the pleasure of staying here a couple of years ago, and I must say it was an absolute delight. The moment I stepped into my cozy casita, I knew I was in for a fantastic vacation. The highlight of my stay was definitely the kitchen. It was well-equipped with everything I needed to prepare my own meals. The stove, refrigerator, and utensils were all in great condition. I loved being able to buy fresh ingredients and experiment with traditional Mexican recipes in the comfort of my own casita.
The host was incredibly friendly and accommodating. He provided me with excellent recommendations for nearby restaurants and attractions, ensuring that I had a memorable experience during my stay. The property itself was beautifully maintained, with lush gardens and a tranquil atmosphere that provided the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
I would highly recommend Casitas El Escondite to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable retreat in Zihuatanejo. I can't wait to return and create more wonderful memories at this hidden gem...
