I really wanted to leave this review as the others here vary so greatly that I was reluctant to reserve. I'm glad that I went with my gut and gave it a go. |There really isn't any accessible accommodation at the bungalows. In fact, with few exceptions, Guadalajara isn't a very accessible city. On the upside, it's full of spectacular old buildings, beautiful historic neighborhoods, kind & helpful residents and loads of fantastic food.|Ok, back to the Bungalows...|This is not a new condo development where all units are the identical, perfect, and perfectly souless. This is a historic convent in the colonial style with rooms that have been reno'd bringing them up to a high, modern standard.|The building has a central courtyard full of tropical plantings and spiral staircases to the upper suites. The stairways are very tight, concrete spirals that are super charming but NOT toddler friendly. Unfortunately, the courtyard is effectively a thrughway for accessing the suites and doesn't offer any patio furniture or other seating options. |Each suite is unique and decor is very cool/stylish. The plaster walls and ceilings have been maintained (but painted) providing a rustic feel that combines well with the starkly modern glass features to provide a great aesthetic. |Front desk staff are friendly, helpful, reliable and all fluently bilingual in Spanish and English (at least).|Housekeeping is reliable and personable. |A/C, fridge, plumbing, tv, and safe all in good working and looking condition.|Luxe bathroom products (L'Occitane). |VERY comfortable bed with luxury quality linens. |Great "rainshower" shower. Other reviewers have mentioned that water can escape the shower and wet the bathroom floor.. well, yes, that's true but this is Mexico where traditional showers are frequently entirely open to the rest of the bathroom. Also, Guadalajara's climate is VERY dry and even if you flooded the floor it would be bone dry again inside of an hour. When traveling internationally, embracing cultural differences is not only polite but presumably the whole point of traveling, no? |The included breakfast is at a tiny cafe next door to the hotel. It appears to be family run and is very cute and clean. The food is excellent in fact, hubby & I both thought thier chiliquiles were tastier than those at the associated Demitria Hotel's dining room (which were quite good). Thier refried black beans were some of the best I've had (YUM!) Portions were spot on but coffee varied a bit and was sometimes on the weak side. |The Bungalows are located in a great area with tree-lined streets and limitless food & drink options 2 blocks away on trendy Chaputapeque (sp?)|We saw maintenance and repairs taking place on a few different days so it appears that the Manager cares about the property. . We ran into one maintenance issue during our stay. It was dealt with immediately (while we were at dinner) and without any need for repeated requests, what more could you ask for?|Lastly, the wifi was included and, during our stay, was only down breifly in the middle of the night a few times (we're insomniacs). Otherwise it was stable and sufficient for Netflix streaming without interruption. |We definitely recommend this hotel, particularly for multi-night stays, and for those who like some character in thier...

Read moreOur vacation in beautiful Guadalajara was made perfect by our stay at the Demetria Bungalows. From Augustine and Ana at the concierge desk, Gonzalo our server at the restaurant and the lovely Ms. Gil who kept her bungalow sparkling clean and never felt as if we needed anything. Every staff member that we encounter during orr stay at the Bungalows and the hotel was nothing short of exceptional.|||| The bungalows are situated in a gorgeous tree-lined street just around the corner from the glass Demetria hotel . The buffet breakfast was varied and fresh, and a perfect start for adventures discovering Guadalajara. The exterior is a genuine old colonial structure; inside the bungalows are modern state-of-the-art with some vintage treasures to give a bright fun contrast. Our private atrium had a glass top table and 2-chairs for outside seating and enjoyment. The air-conditioning kept our entire bungalow very cool and comfortable.|||| The desk with the little drawers was perfect for chargers, pads pens, laptops and all those annoying little things you have to take on trips. And help keep everything centralizing out-of-the-way.|||| Nearby the bungalows are many nice restaurants and happy hour places is right down the street and around the corner. We enjoyed the short walk to these places in this beautiful neighborhood especially, especially the Pacha restaurant where we enjoyed a grilled ribeye steak, salad, fries and Agua Fresca. Just across the street was a former French Mansion that now houses a bridal shop. |||| Bravo to the Demetria bungalows and hotel staff, the room service is excellent and fast and the front desk will get you a taxi in just minutes.
