In the center of town close to a busy busy main road.Lots of truck and bus traffic that never stops.Good place to snack next door.with nice owners.CM decor is yard sale style..The AC? Is undersized for the suite! It cools.The shower runs hot and cold litetally.Ajijic itself runs up and down a hill.The cobblestone streets are quaintly hazardous.Most of the sidewalks are tripping hazards.The weekly market is out of town toward Chapala.Its no big deal.The small shops are plentiful and the owners are glad to get your business.The art scene is big and there are lots of old gringos wandering around. The best climate in the world? Bah humbug.The lake Chapala is not usable due to contamination of various materials from upstream.Chapala the town to the east has more to offer in all ways.A nicer lively Malecon as well. LEVEL sidewalks and a beer garden that my wifes family visited 60 years ago.Its still there Ajijic is priced for tourists,expats retirees etc.If you stay at Casita Montana bring a Co2 and smoke detector and ear plugs.The working staff are nice with a sense of humor. We arrived here and were greeted by Anne, the sweet and kind proprietor of this hotel. She is adorable and makes you feel at home. The price was right, and our room was clean and the set up very cozy and simple. The bed was very comfortable. As we did not have a car we were very close to the lake and everything else.
