I don't see original review posted. Perhaps I didn't "submit."||Arrived in Ajijic exhausted, so checked in at LaEstancia because it was convenient. Next day, unable to find a casita rental for only a month, I accepted proprietor's offer to rent 2nd floor accommodations with fridge and microwave. Trusting soul that I am, I paid in advance. Then came the realization that the motion-sensor, loud ding-dongs and timbre noises would be intermittent day and night. Then came the barking dogs and noise from the neighbors. The woman I presumed to be proprietor refused to speak to the neighbor about the dogs. She was well aware of the futility. I couldn't afford to pay twice for accommodations elsewhere so, at her suggestion, I moved to a tiny lower room where she said the dogs couldn't be heard as well. Not true. Odd sounds from the other side of wall at the headboard were even worse, and the activities of maintenance, housekeeping and laundry room above meant no daytime relief. Still sharp ding-dongs and barking. She totally "overlooked" the fact that I had paid for a large room with "kitchenette" not a small room with no closet, no drawers, no chair and no door on the bathroom, no matter how "charming." I became profoundly fatigued and a painful sore throat weakened me so I stayed in bed, but no sleep. I vacated after 16 days and headed for home to recuperate from my nightmare vacation. My credit card account had been charged $12 more than agreed. I had reminded the owner, but she just smiled and didn't offer to repay me. I assumed that she'd have it deducted from my credit card charge. Later, in an email: "... we cannot give you money back, only give days if you come back, and about the 12 dollars we can give you them back, but we dont have the process to take the money all the way to USA," Who would be crazy enough to return to such chaos which, crazy as it sounds, can be very quiet...when it isn't very noisy. I was refused any refund for early departure although that wasn't made clear to me. I assumed that good faith and honorable intent would take priority over greed when a guest does not receive the product she paid for. Consumers depend on honest business practices, || Barking dogs on the other side of the wall can be closer than the sleep-shattering motion-sensor "dingdongs" in the courtyard but the owner said she wasn't responsible for "outside" noises. How can a sound heard from the inside not be an inside noise?Night after night at La Estancia I got little sleep but didn't realize the toll it was taking on me until at the point of collapse. I had to vacate after 16 days. I've been at home 10 days and aware of the serious consequences of "profound fatigue:" Double vision, inability to do chores and housebound because I can barely stand. ||In April, just before "la Estancia" this old lady was on a cruise swinging on the dance floor night after night for two weeks! ...
Read morewe were there at the Estancia hotel for a couple of days because I got married in LA and I celebrated my reception in Guadalajara, we decided to stayed there because the reception place it was closed to the hotel...|Well, to begin with this review, I'll say that the hotel has 2 sections, the ugly part which is the one that we stayed without knowing, and the suites sides, the pretty one, and the difference is enormous!... my room it was really old fashioned, probably never renewable, no coffee maker, no bar fridge, no dryer, just 2 electrical plugs, no extra pillows, a noisy air-conditioning and a noisy toilet... meanwhile the suites are totally pack with everything that a regular room, don't have it!! . . the hotel gave us a continental breakfast... what was it????. Just a cup of coffee and 1 slice of toast... really???... it wasn't a a continental breakfast... where was the cereal, the milk, the fruit???... well, that was an extra!... honestly, I will never going to book again in...
