I checked out this restaurant after seeing the good Google reviews. The place is small but has a nice vibe, especially the outdoor seating in the middle surrounded by a little garden full of flowers and greenery—it was really pretty.
There are also two cats that hang around. I’m allergic, but luckily they didn’t come to our table (probably because my dog was too busy barking at them). I did notice the staff kept petting one of the cats, and at one point a lady complained to the waiter because it wouldn’t stay away from her table. The waiter carried it off, but sure enough, it came back.
For food, I ordered the arrachera burrito. It looked amazing when it arrived—big and well put together—but the meat was unfortunately chewy and not what I was hoping for. I wouldn’t get it again. My wife had a burger, and that was actually really good.

If you are looking for American Tex-Mex food this is not for you. Membrillo’s is in a different class.
Membrillo serves quality dishes, beautifully prepared. I suggest the Chamorro Al Horno. It’s a tender shank roasted in a clay oven. The sauces and spices make the meals different than the average tourist eateries.
The owner stands guard and makes certain each meal is presented properly.
This is where one goes to enjoy a meal, and not scream over a local band or singer.
