It's a very lively place, they are always doing some event or have something to look at, some shows. costumed ppl to take pictures with, I've even seen a ice skating ring in the park in December. I've come during the day and at night time, never been harassed, I've seen a lot of things here and I haven't had a bad experience. The only thing I really dislike about this place is the horse tours, yes, very cute and all but the horses are weak, suffering. Although I saw an electric Ryde which is beautiful and doesn't need a horse. Oh, and at night time, you will see a lot of homeless ppl,...

Great place to start a walking tour on the first square of Guadalajara or take a tour in the Calandrias (motorized or horse power based ones). Its on front of the Palacio Municipal and you have the Cathedral and Rotonda de los hombres ilustres across the street. If you need an escamocha (typical fruit based drink) or repair jewelry or watch head downstairs towards the underground "Pasaje" Make the walk past the Teatro Degollado all the way until you reach the Hospicio Cabañas and see Hombre en Llamas by Jose...
