We stayed for 5 days in pit visit to the beautiful Merida. It's an ok hotel but I'd wouldn't stay there again. Our room was sophocating with no windows. You really have to keep the AC running all day long so you can keep the humidity low. Showering was a nightmare because there is not a barrier between the toilet and showering area and all the water from showering turns the entire bathroom into a lake. We had to ask for extra towels each day to retain the water from invading the toilet area, but still wouldn't work. It was super frustrating. Lack of common Sense for whoever design that bathroom. Breakfast was basic coffee, juice, sliced white bread, ham and cheddar cheese slices. Kind of boring after the second day. ||Keep an eye on the linen because they don't change sheets from previous guests. Very disgusting was to find hair and stains in our "supposed to be clean and fresh sheets"||Bottom line, definitely visiting Merida was well worthy the suffering of staying in such claustrophobic and humidity camera room, but will look for a better and fresher option...
Read moreFor an economical hotel, this is an excellent value for the money. Located just a couple blocks off the Main Street, it’s so much quieter than I expected. The room was small, but absolutely spotless and I felt very secure there. Someone was at the front desk 24 hours a day and everyone was super helpful. ||As with other reviews, the only negative is the WiFi didn’t reach to my room but I just went to the lobby to read the news, which was fine. The AC worked great, the staff was super helpful and there was even a basic continental type breakfast which, for the price, was just fine some a quick bite. ||Would recommend for a budget friendly, clean, updated, quiet hotel just a short walk from many...
Read moreI had a senior moment and booked the hotel for 1 week after we actually needed it. So, when we arrived early, manager Jose straightened it all out. Though we had to change rooms mid-stay, we couldn't have been happier. Both rooms were more than large enough, immaculately clean and walking distance to central Merida attractions. Jose, Candy & Charisa were all so very helpful and treated us like we were their only gutrysts, though the hotel was full. Breakfast buffet was light but sufficient. We arrived after a cold front, so we didn't try the small but clean pool. We'll plan...
