CAFÉ CRÉME — Restaurant in Mérida

This will always be my favorite restaurant / café in Mérida! They serve authentic French fare—lots of excellent breads, cheeses, crepes, quiche and salads. The menu has something for everyone and the food is consistently excellent. They are pet friendly and the wifi is pretty good. The courtyard is gorgeous and I swear even if it’s deathly hot outside, the patio is always very comfortable. Most recently I was here in August and it was still very pleasant to work there for several hours near midday. There are lots of trees and shade, and they have several fans they adjust accordingly throughout the day. The owner is always there and they have had the same server for many years. This was once my go-to for breakfast or lunch. The pandemic beat it up a bit, but What A Terrific Comeback! It's more beautiful than ever, lots of tidying and small renovations (the bathrooms are so pretty now) have given it a lift. I'm impressed with the food, too. It's better, on every level. One of the places we keep returning to for breakfast—have eaten there over a dozen times. We enjoy sitting in their cool, cozy courtyard under the palm trees. Excellent coffee, baguettes, and their quiche Lorraine is possibly the best in Mérida. The service is always top-notch, and prices are reasonable for the quality of food. Today, we had three coffees.
