We booked our condo rental through an independent condo owner, through Homeaway, the process was very quick and easy.||||This review is just for the general facilities as the condo units themselves all vary in price and quality. Our unit itself was was mediocre but worth the price we paid (great price).||||This is an older complex but the grounds are generally very good, the pools (and there are a bunch, big and small) are showing some wear but are not dangerous or non functional, in fact they aren't half bad.||The gardens are very nice and well maintained.||The beach area is excellent, one of the least crowded resort/condo places we have stayed along the Nuevo beach strip. It is not hard to have some privacy, absolutely loved our beach time. The beach chairs are good, the padded covers are getting a little aged but are still comfortable. The grounds staff are frequently on the beach keeping it clean. There is no shortage of chairs 95% of the time, there are tons of palapas as well as palm trees for shade.||The restaurant workers who look after the beach area are very friendly and personable, you can order food and drinks all day. The security people are excellent as well, they are frequently checking to ensure non condo stayers are not infiltrating the area. ||Housekeeping staff is generally friendly and seem to keep the condo quite clean.||Generally most of the staff we saw at the complex were very nice and friendly. ||||The check in process was very quick and easy, no issues there. The fees were explained up front and were confirmed on the contract (which was supplied in english at the front desk). ||||The check out process was a little longer and belaboured but not totally unbearable, be sure to check your bill and make sure you are only charged for what you used for towels and services (eg. housekeeping).||||The local area is excellent for basic shopping, there is a grocery and liquor store across the street in a small mall, the mall also has some beach wear and gear stores plus restaurants including Mc Donalds and Dominos Pizza.||Walmart (a great place to get your groceries) is a short 10-15 min cab ride away. ||||We would definitely go back again, maybe the same...

Read moreWe stayed here with another couple through an owner rental for 5 weeks. Buildings are older, but well maintained and clean. Grounds are groomed daily and in great shape. Pools and beach area are clean. Nice, quiet place close to many amenities. Staff is generally friendly and helpful. ||I would have rated it as a 4.5 for all of the above reasons, but 2 days before leaving, our passports were stolen from our unit. We didn't have a safe and the management will not store your passports in their safe. We did have them hidden in an unusual place, but they were still found. 7000 pesos hidden with the passports were also stolen, although no electronic equipment or other valuables that were in plain view were taken. There were no signs of forced entry. This had to be some sort of "inside job". The thieves knew what they were looking for and where to look. We reported it to management who appeared to help by sending an interpreter with us to the police station to file a report. The interpreter was given a written statement prepared by the management to submit to the police. We trusted them, only to find out later, that in the police report, our passports were listed as "lost" not stolen. This cost us an additional 1116 pesos at the airport to replace our tourist visas which were in the passports when they were stolen. In all, for 2 of us, the cost of: emergency passports to travel home with, rescheduled flights, replacement of the tourist visas, extra nights' accommodation and replacement of our permanent passports has cost us just over $1000. We can't help but think that the management is trying to cover up the whole affair. (the other couple's passports were hidden in a different location and were...
