D'Margo Hotel — Hotel in Playa del Carmen

Scam alert! I booked this place on booking.com but couldnt find it on google maps under different name. I booked room for 4 people. Because i have red before many weird reviews I made my checkin at 3 pm. I also said we are gonna be 4 of us and 3 of us will arrive later in the evening. The guy at the reception was very,nice and helpful. They have very weird s,stem how to process booking.com reservation and it takes very long time. I managed to get the room, all ok. In the evening around 10:30pm my friends arrived. I picked them up at the reception and ask the guy there if he needs any information or passports. He said that no and let us go. When we walked to the room we met another lady on the way. She was enormously rude and basically shouted "where do we think we are going". I tried to explain that we are staying all in the room. She was shouting that i am taking unregistered people in the room and it is violating of the rules and she will cancel my booking. We had argument, at the end she registered my friends (i asked 3x to 2 different people if they need to register all guests and they said no, if any of them including her would simply say yes we need your data can ,ou please follow me, nothing of this wouldnt have happened). In the morning she came to the room and told us she cancelled our reservation and told us we have to leave. I received message via booking that they will cancel my night because of unpropriate behaviour but then i received another message that she put "no show" on booking even we were checked in and in the property at that time. The place is ok but this horrible ridiculous person turned it in the worst experience i have had. I made a fraud report on booking.com and made a complain. I hope they will disappear from there or this person should be...

I had a great first few days in Playa here. Location: it’s half a block from the beach and half a block from 5th (right where you want to be!) downside to that is there are very popular clubs nearby and the music can be heard. Atmosphere: there is a little construction going on here and there. Most of the staff look busy but happy. The main manager speaks English but the others you need Spanish to communicate. There are walls completely covered by huge posters hiding some poor aesthetics but I really enjoyed them being not plain. The pool is comfortable and central as well as the the other common area which had hammocks, tables, and couches in the sun and shade. WARNING: the worst thing is the noise in the late evening and early morning from the clubs. I believe this makes it a “Value Room.” Rooms: there is many rooms but all are spacious and clean. The amenities could be improved but you can upgrade your room for better ones. I had a $25 day with AC, mini fridge, and good water pressure. I also had $20 days with no Ac, no mini fridge, and weak pressure. The ladder room had an extra bed though and was one the second floor I instead of 3rd. Conclusion... I would stay here again if I where traveling and wanted easy access to nightlife, restaurants, and ocean. I would avoid if I went to bed early or had extra...

I was concerned the moment we walked into door; the receptionist was loudly smacking gum, couldn’t find our reservation, and had to call someone to be sure we had a room. ||||Finally we were able to get to our room only to discover that there was no air continuing (listed as one of the amenities). Apparently air conditioning is an extra charge ($20 a night). It was so hot and the ceiling fan wasn’t working properly so we said fine, turn on the air. A manager was called and it was too late to have someone turn on the air so we were stuck sleeping in an extremely hot room.|| ||We opened the louvered shutters so we could get some air and found a large hole in the screen. It was a hot sleepless night.||||The location is just a short block from the incredibly loud 5th avenue so bring ear plugs if you’d like to sleep. One club had music going until 5AM.||||The water just trickled out of the faucet and there was no hot water in the sink. Good thing we had some bottled water to brush our teeth because I would not trust the water coming out of the rusty faucet.||||The manager claimed that they would be moving us because they were in the process of redoing the room but the move wouldn’t happen until the next evening. ||||The next morning we couldn’t leave...
