Really beautiful, peaceful, secluded small Boutique Hotel. In the middle of nature, surrounded by mangroves, with private access to a beautiful cenote. The path to the cenote is special by itself and perfect for some really nice pictures. Rooms are very big, very cute decorated, bed and pillows very comfortable. Ceiling fan was great and strong, no need for AC in winter months. Employees at the frond desk were super friendly and very helpful. This is definitely a very quiet place, far away from the “happening” and noise in Tulum. It is basically right at the end of Tulum or right at the entrance of the SianKan National park. Two negative points: 1. The Hotel is situated at the furthest point of Tulum at km 10 right before SianKan. There is NO ACCESS TO THE BEACH unfortunately, which is not very clear described on the webpage. This hotel has two other sister-hotels, which allows you to use the Beach club at the POSADA LAMAR. This Hotel is located on km 4, so it is pretty far. You do need a car and even if you do have a car, if it's high season it's a pretty long way in traffic to get there. Parking space is very limited. This hotel has no restaurant. Breakfast was ok, very basic. So if you do want to get the experience of being right at the beach or at least have access to the beach right in front of you, this is not the place. However, it is a beautiful and peaceful place, very clean, comfortable and definitely worth...
Read moreLovely quiet hotel with fantastic private cenote, tucked away at the very end of the hotel zone road.
The cenote was my favorite place - so quiet, natural and beautiful, with two chaise-longs in the shade, and the roof for sunbathing - the perfect place to rest and relax. Better than any beach club in Tulum:) Other highlights were the simple breakfast served on our porch every morning when we woke up, and complimentary bikes for getting around - we used these daily to venture out for lunch and dinner, felt a bit like childhood! The rooms were very comfortable and super clean, just like the photos on google.
The staff at Cormoran are good and professional people. Leo - the day manger, has helped me a lot with reservation on WhatsApp ahead of the arrival. He provided us with info and beach towels, padlocks for the bikes and paddle boats for use on the cenote. Daniel - the night manager, was friendly and helpful too, always greeting us at the entrance when we returned in the evenings and helping us park. He also arranged an early breakfast the day we were checking out.
This was our first time visiting and honestly, after a spending a week exploring Tulum, I feel this hotel was The perfect choice for us, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and...
Read moreThe property itself is beautiful, but unfortunately I had a few issues. I booked a room for a week in January and only ended up spending two nights there because I was back and forth between Tulum and Playa del Carmen the entire time.
That said, the hotel claimed I rented a bike and did not return it (which is not true) after accusing me of "running away" from the manager when I was leaving the morning of checkout. As with most properties, there is no checkout time and after addressing this with management, they apologized bc they realized they made a mistake. Following this, I realized housekeeping stole a pair of very expensive sandals (again, I stayed here only two nights and those sandals are the only thing missing from my suitcase so there is nowhere else they could be) and after asking mgmt about this, I was told that housekeeping said she didnt find anything - which is obvious considering no one would admit to stealing something from a customer's room. Rather than apologize or offer some sort of compensation, I was just told they did not see anything left in my room..
Anyway, never staying here again and was a waste of nearly $2k - a shame bc its really nice and quiet but I would not recommend to anyone after how I...
