Villa Miramar Tulum — Hotel in Tulum

A group of 8 of us stayed at Villa Miramar for my birthday in April 2016. It was everything I imagined. First off, the place is spectacular–A perfectly designed, personal beachfront resort. The individual rooms are large and well-appointed. There are a few nice private spaces on the property and the indoor-outdoor common area is as good as it gets. Just a short scramble from the patio, over a few rocks and you're in a beautiful shallow bay. The property has a small beach that I'd imagine varies in size from year to year. It connects with that of a small hotel. It's nice to have the use of their larger beach, bar, and other amenities--though we only felt the need to venture over there once in 4 days. The location is fantastic--out of the busy tourist zone, but close enough to walk to a handful of restaurants. The staff was nothing short of amazing. Teresa made several delicious meals. I loved her habanero salsa in particular. Jiri pulled off last-minute dinner booking miracles, made arrangements for a private performance by Rodrigo, a legit guitarist and could not have been more accommodating. She's the best! All in all - a lovely experience. The staff was amazing and we opted for a chef to cook all our meals. The meals were 10/10. The house was beautiful but definitely a bit grimey. The kitchen is very small and not clean - if we would have had to cook our own meals this would have been a problem. The bathrooms don’t feel super clean and have an atrocious smell at all times.

It appears the park where this is located is newly protected land so you need to pay to enter the property every day and they confiscate all glass and plastic. So, if you pre-buy groceries yourself - you are in massive trouble. This appears to be a new thing and maybe they are just hashing out the kinks but this was a big annoyance for us.

The place is amazing! The view breathtaking, friendly and polite staff, it has it all! It's the perfect place to embrace nature away from the crowded/noisy places yet close enough to go and explore the whole area! We would love to visit again...
