We had a wonderful stay at Valeria Jardins D'Agadir Resort. It has a huge pool in the centre, a children's aqua park, with fun features suitable for a range of ages and another, quieter pool away from the large pool music, with its own bar. The grounds are lovely, with lots of colourful plants and trees, well maintained and looked after. Our room was cleaned everyday. Although we did have a couple of days when we didn't feel completely well, and so we felt it was unnecessary, and put the 'do not disturb' sign on the door. All the staff across the resort were friendly and very hard working. The shutters on the windows of the room were very good at cutting out the light and also muffled the outside sound. Unfortunately not necessarily enough though, as even noise outside of the resort was very loud at 3-4 am. This wasn't a big problem for us though, as my husband is partially deaf and I sleep with earplugs in anyway. We were well rested and figured they'd done what they already could to reduce noise, in a bustling city.
The food was fantastic, a huge choice of options throughout the day, and if you have a big appetite, then you can eat most of the day, if so inclined! I have an intolerance to wheat, and absolutely would not recommend this to celiacs, but for me, it was fine. There was a big list on the wall of which foods contained what, and when looking at the foods in offer, it was obvious which items contained wheat. We only ate out of the resort once, when we went out for the show and dinner - which was a brilliant evening out, put on through the hotel, and the event chefs had gone above and beyond to cater for my inability to eat wheat!
We couldn't have wanted for anything more from our stay. We were very happy with the food, drinks, staff and the room was cool and comfortable.
I do also have mobility issues, where sometimes, if my hips start to slip and move, it's incredible painful and debilitating. They have us a room with disability access and a big wet room, and asked if we could let them know if they could assist any further. We would definitely stay here again if we wanted to return to Morocco.
Other highlights of staying here is that there is a spa and a gym on site too. There are lots of excursions you can book through the hotel, we recommend the hammam and the trip to crocopark.
We both had a brilliant time. We recommend as English speakers, to brush up on French. Lots of the staff can speak English and others try, but certainly when out of the hotel, some trips really benefited from knowing some French at least. We went on a tour of Agadir city, which was very interesting, but one stop was to a argon oil shop, and his English was lacking. I understood a large amount of what he was saying, and interpreted to my husband while the man was speaking. But unfortunately, there was just one other English couple on tour, and they walked out of the shop early, because they said they couldnt understand at all what was being spoken about. It would have been better if a, we could have sat together so I could briefly tell them what product was for what. But even better. If the guy giving the presentation could have spoken more English to communicate to them properly.
Where the hotel is located is very safe. I still wouldn't go anywhere without my husband of course, in a different place. But Agadir is built for tourists and very pleasant to walk around freely. Lots of the shop owners locally are friendly and engaging. Others are too pushy. Don't be afraid to say no and to haggle. But if you don't feel comfortable, then just make your excuses and lace. There are lots of tourist police around as well.
The beach is just a short walk from the hotel. It offers a wonderful view of the Atlas mountains and the famous written landmark. The sand is lovely and soft and kept clean. The water is also clear and lovely to paddle in. Lots of people swim in it daily and there are lifeguards at each section...
Read moreFirst impressions of the hotel were it was tired and needed a make over but I tried to keep an open mind. No one helped us with our bags, bearing in mind we were travelling with a 2 year old. We had 2 large bags and a buggy. On arrival into the entrance hall with all our bags I waited in a queue to check in and was handed two forms to complete. There was no where to sit in view of our bags. I had to move away from my luggage to complete a form which was only half in English and not explained to us. We were then given a pack of information and a porter helped us to the room but only took one bag, so we had to get to the room with the other large bag and the buggy and carrying our child and hand luggage. After this they waited for a tip!We were placed on the 1st floor which had lift to so we had to carry all our bags up. Walking through the hotel the whole place looked tired and dirty. The paths were a trip hazard, uneven and there were broken concrete blocks on the paths with unsafe jagged edges. The room itself had not been cleaned properly. The carpet had not been hoovered. The taps and light fittings had not been cleaned and had previous residents finger prints on.There were stains all over the sides and tables and the mirrors were so old they were tarnished.Paint was flaking off all woodwork. To top it off when you looked over the balcony there was a lip which was Full of cigarette butts. This had not been cleaned out for a long time..if ever. We had requested a cot at booking which was not in the room but when it did arrive it had stains all over the mesh and dirt on the edges.Still trying to make the most of it we walked to try and find the pools. Not one of the pools had space to sit down. The main pool was totally full and there was very loud music with a foam party going on. For a family hotel this is not what I foresaw. As it was now 3pm and our child hadn’t eaten since breakfast we went to see if there was any food we could order (plate of chips etc) and were told the restaurant was closed and afternoon tea would be served at 4pm. We asked for a beer in the meantime and were given WARM bottled beer when we asked for a cold beer we were laughed at by the staff. Next to us on the floor there was a spilt drink which had dried so had been there for a while. We returned half an hour later, this was still there and had not been cleaned up.The queues for afternoon tea were long and the only offerings were pancakes. We walked back to the room and by this time I was extremely upset. We looked to book a flight home that evening. i went to check out,I was asked the problem, which I proceeded to tell them and show pictures. There was no apology or offer to rectify the situation and I was ignored and the staff member walked off as I was talking. I asked for the government tax to be refunded as we were not staying, this took a long time as there was no receipt or note of us paying this.I didn’t get a full tax refund. The incredibly rude staff members name was Youssef. I left in floods of tears. I just wanted to get home. The change in flight cost us an extra £150 and we ended back in the uk early the next morning with an exhausted 2 year old who screamed the whole flight home.On the 1st June I tried to change hotels with love holidays who we booked with, after reading the reviews of this place. Even 3 months in advance this was not possible! it is the worst hotel I have ever stepped foot in and I have travelled many countries in the world and stayed in cheap hotels on occasions. Jardin D’agadir is barely a 2 star rating when it is advertised as a 4 star. Do not book here if you don’t want to be ripped off and disappointed. Also avoid Love Holidays. I sat in a queue for 25 minutes to speak to someone whilst being told I had to email after the holiday had ended on the booking. You could only complete a word limit of 3000 characters and had to attach photos one at a time…which added to a the upset and...

My partner and I booked a 10-night stay at the Valeria resort in June for two adults, costing £1,475 at a 4-star property. Initially, I was thrilled—a new country, a seemingly beautiful resort, and a price that felt like a steal. However, by day three, the reality hit hard: you get what you pay for, and in our case, that included food poisoning and a series of disappointments.
Food Quality and Hygiene Issues The all-you-can-eat buffet was a major letdown. The food was often lukewarm, attracting flies and even birds that wandered freely in the restaurant. I noticed food stashed behind the buffet, barely wrapped and placed on the floor during breakfast service, which raised serious hygiene concerns. The meat served was almost entirely fat, with little edible content. Unsurprisingly, both my partner and I suffered food poisoning, which ruined two days of our holiday. On our last day, we met two other guests who shared similar experiences, having also fallen ill after eating exclusively at the resort. After some research, I discovered multiple allegations of food poisoning linked to this resort—information I wish I’d seen before booking.
Language and Cultural Bias As British guests, we felt overlooked. The resort caters predominantly to French guests, with an estimated 95% French clientele. Staff made minimal effort to communicate in English, and all entertainment was exclusively in French, leaving us feeling excluded. Reviews had mentioned this bias, but I underestimated how isolating it would be. A more inclusive approach would have made a significant difference.
Unprofessional Staff Behavior The entertainment staff’s conduct was another low point. During dinner one evening, two male employees were openly discussing their sex lives with two female guests from Manchester, in a restaurant surrounded by other guests, including children. This was neither discreet nor professional, and it was uncomfortable to witness. While I have no issue with staff interacting with guests, such intimate conversations in a public setting were inappropriate and should be addressed by management.
Final Thoughts While the resort’s low price and attractive appearance initially seemed like a bargain, the reality was far from it. Poor food hygiene, cultural exclusivity, and unprofessional staff behavior overshadowed any positives. I strongly recommend potential guests research reviews thoroughly and consider paying more for a resort with better standards. Management should prioritize food safety, staff training, and inclusivity to improve the...
