Rude staff, zero professionalism — avoid at all costs.
I’ve stayed in many hotels, but never have I been treated with such blatant disrespect and disregard as I was at The One Hotel Casablanca. I hadn’t even checked in yet and already regretted booking.
Upon arrival, I was told — with no politeness, no care — that my reservation was “in the past” and therefore invalid. I explained I had booked via the website for the correct dates (the current day), and there must’ve been a system error. The receptionist, instead of even pretending to listen or help, doubled down and told me I had made the mistake. No effort to understand. No attempt to resolve it. Just a cold shrug and “you need to book again.” That’s it.
He then proceeded to ignore us and serve other customers as we stood there, stunned. I had to stand off to the side like a nuisance and rebook the room on my own phone — again, no apology or assistance. When I returned to the desk, this same receptionist grabbed my phone without asking, looked at me blankly, and asked in the most condescending tone, “Are you booking it or should we?” His entire attitude was rude, dismissive, and arrogant. At one point he even rolled his eyes. Not once did he ask, “How can we fix this?” or take responsibility for the system error. Not once.
I then asked if we could at least go to breakfast while we waited, since the buffet was open. Again, another curt “No.” No explanation. Just "No — you're not guests until you book." Eventually, a female manager noticed the situation and kindly said we could go eat. Finally, someone with decency.
Sadly, breakfast was hardly a consolation — the buffet was full of flies and looked like it had been sitting out for far too long. Appetising, right?
Later, another senior manager came to us and said she’d seen how unprofessional and disrespectful the receptionist had been — including the moment he took my phone out of my hand. She admitted his behaviour stemmed from a personal conflict he was taking out on guests. Completely unacceptable. We were offered a free room upgrade as a peace offering, but I declined. A nicer room doesn’t erase the way I was spoken to — or not spoken to, for that matter.
Despite multiple staff members apologising on his behalf, the receptionist himself never once came forward. He stayed behind the desk, smug and silent, while his colleagues scrambled to clean up the mess he caused. When I finally confronted him before leaving, he denied everything. “I didn’t do anything wrong,” he said. No apology. No awareness. Just complete denial.
This is not customer service. This is not hospitality. If this is who the hotel has front-of-house, I genuinely fear for how other guests are treated.
To be clear — the female staff were helpful and kind, clearly trying to do damage control for someone they probably deal with every day. But I won’t be silenced with a “free upgrade” and certainly not when the front desk treats guests like burdens. If you value being treated with basic respect, look elsewhere. This hotel has...
Read moreAVOID THIS HOTEL – Dirty, Unsafe, and Involved in a Parking Scam||We had a truly terrible experience at 1 Hotel in Casablanca. This place is filthy, falling apart, and actively involved in dishonest practices.||We used the hotel’s own valet parking, expecting basic security and professionalism. Instead, our car was booted by local scammers, and we later learned that hotel staff, including the bellhop, tip off nearby shop owners and so-called “parking attendants” about guest vehicles. These individuals then place tire boots on cars and demand money to remove them—a scam the hotel is clearly complicit in. The fact that this happened through valet service we trusted the hotel to manage is appalling. It’s a breach of guest safety and trust, and frankly, authorities should investigate.||Inside, things weren’t any better. The bathroom was so poorly designed that the door slammed into the toilet, forcing us to squeeze in sideways or leave the door open entirely. The shower door also hit the toilet, and the narrow entry scratched my skin as I tried to squeeze in. The shower leaked all over the floor because the drain didn’t function properly, creating a soggy, unsafe mess.||The hallways were dark, smelled bad, and had visible cockroaches. The carpets were stained, filthy, and threadbare, with actual holes in some areas. It felt more like a neglected roadside motel than a supposedly 3- or 4-star hotel.||Breakfast was a joke. The juices weren’t fresh, and likely not even real orange juice—just cheap boxed versions. Food items looked like they had been sitting out for days. The coffee was barely acceptable, and the traditional Moroccan tea was bitter and badly prepared.||In every category—cleanliness, safety, service, and food—this hotel failed. It absolutely does not deserve its current star rating. It should be rated 1 star at most, and it should absolutely be investigated for its involvement in the parking scam that targets unsuspecting travelers.||Do yourself a favor: book...

Everything about it is terrible.
We had to leave after just one night, despite booking for 3 nights, due to how terrible it was, and the hotel refused to refund our money.
Upon arrival, we were unable to check in. The hotel had no electricity or water.
When we finally gained access to our room, we discovered that it was completely overran with ants. I went to use the toilet and injured myself, due to the toilet not being fixed to the bathroom floor, the shower was barely functional, due to extremely low water pressure, and produced nothing more than a trickle. The toilet couldn't be flushed, due to lack of water.
Bed had only a very thin sheet, no duvet and no pillow cases.
We then experienced another loss of electricity, leaving the hotel in complete darkness.
The elevator was therefore out of order, meaning guests were left to navigate their way down multiple flights of stairs in pitch black darkness.
Breakfast was absolutely terrible.
The hotel looks nothing like the photos online, and random riff raff from the scruffy street outside, just wander in and out.
After enduring just one night, we expressed our concerns to the reception and told them we we're leaving immediately, and requested a refund. The staff then suddenly started to pretend that they couldn't understand english, despite previously conversing with us fluently.
I could continue, but I think the picture is clear enough.
Don't book to stay here.
You will be extremely disappointed and...
