This place is an absolute dump. I have no idea how they call themselves 5 stay unless it is in local currency and it converts to US $ at 10 to 1 so it is really 0.5 star. We checked in late and there was no one at the door or desk. After a few minutes a man emerged and checked us in. He pointed up a set of stairs and said that was where the elevator was to get to the rooms and did not offer to help with our bags as you would have expected at a 5 star hotel. In the room, the furniture was very dated, the curtains were falling down and the desk legs were not even but we were exhausted so we went to sleep. In the morning we were woken by the stench of sewage so needed to change rooms. We moved down the hall (they just delivered a key and did not offer to help) and settled into room 2. The furniture was still dated but it smelled clean and the curtains were functional so we stayed. If we were not there as part of a group, we would have left as there are many other, much nicer hotels in the area. The bathroom was difficult to navigate. There were 3 knobs that you needed to play with to get the shower to work and it was always a different combination. None of them were marked as the inserts the indicate temperature or which nozzle that water should come out of fell off years ago. The tub was also quite treacherous as you needed to climb in the 18" high tub over the 6" wide lip. After your shower you feel lucky you made it out alive. Additionally, the towels had holes. In the room you are given 2 small bottles of water that will not be replaced daily which you would expect at a 5 star hotel. |Safety- the push bars to the emergency exits are broken, at least they were on our floor.|The pool area had lounge beds which looked comfortable. The curtains, however, that were to provide shade/privacy were gray with dirt and torn. |Taxis- if you want one, you need to hike up the hill to get one as they will not call one for you. |Gym- the 4 or pieces of equipment were in poor shape and did not feel safe to use.|The spa- this was the only good part of the hotel but you never knew when they would open so you need to keep checking back.|Location- was good, being next to the supermarket was a bonus. You are close to the Medina but the road is under construction and is difficult to cross as there are no traffic signals. |Do not even consider staying here. It was honestly the worst place we have stayed in all of...

Bottom line - i clearly do Not recommend this hotel. You can find much better ones in same price. Very old hotel, un-maintained properly, old furnitures, and house keeping must improve asap. This hotel maybe used to be "5 stars" but doesnt deserve 3 stars now. Needs urgent renovations in all .aspects. See all added pictures There is a huge difference between how public areas look, including pool area, which are very nice, to how rooms are looking. We were tricked by hotel pictures not showing the real condition of this hotel. Luckily for us it happened only in this hotel out of five hotels we passed in this vacation, all are 5 stars and deserve their grade. For example, towels holder in bath room was loose and almost falling from wall. Requests to fix it to reception didnt help and it stayed like this till we checked out(see picture). Bathtub was damaged and you can see in the picture how it looked. It was pailing off. All walls and ceiling of rooms were with dead insecs and spider and dast webs. See picture. Like they were never cleaned in past few years. All furnitues were very old, with bad color, viewable stains all over, sofas and chairs covers too with stains. There were no towels in the bath expect 2 body towels. This is not how it should be in such hotel. We got more towels only after we fequested twice. Requests to replace the rooms, we had 2 rooms, were answered by: "all rooms looks the same, there are no newer rooms". And "Yes, we are aware of this and hotel will be renovated in the future..." But we paid good money for a 5 star hotel with all the expectations and we lost our money on very bad experience in this vacation!! Dining room for breakfast had sticky floor, reminding some clubs after crazy party. You could feel and hear your shoes stick to the floor when walking. This should NEVER happen in any hotel food area and especially in "5 star" hotel. Breakfast varaity of food and drinks was missing many things suitable for 5 star hotel and quality was average. The only reason the score is 1 out of 5 and not 0 is because of the public areas, pool and garden and all views from the hotel rooms....

Hotel Palais Medina Fes: A Disappointing Experience My stay at the Palais Medina Fes was nothing short of a nightmare. Despite its claims of being a 5-star establishment, the experience was far below even a 3-star standard. First, the internet was utterly useless. I had no connection in my initial room, and even after requesting a change, the new room offered what can only be described as stone-age internet with speeds barely reaching 4 Mbps. For a modern hotel, this is unacceptable. The toilet was leaking, and I had to mop up the water daily because the staff failed to resolve the issue. Adding to the frustration, the main lamp in the room didn’t work, and despite informing the technician, nothing was ever fixed. The room itself was far from clean. For a so-called 5-star hotel, the hygiene and maintenance levels were shocking. The carpets were stained, and the furniture felt outdated and poorly maintained. Overall, this hotel does not live up to its advertised standards. My stay was truly awful, and I cannot recommend this place to anyone. It’s a disgrace to the hospitality industry in Fès and a clear example of false advertising. If you’re considering staying here, save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.

I spent two nights here and I regretted it heavily: Arrival: no single welcome word said and nobody helped us with the luggage, we pulled it our by ourselves from the taxi. Gym: No equipments at all, on two treadmills and bicycle machine thingy. Room: It didn't have towels when we checked-in, and we had to request for it. Amenities: Only two small bottles of water placed, if you want extra is chargeable (35 MAD), My wife got thirsty at night, and we had to go put in the middle of the night (1AM) and get it by ourselves outside the hotel. Taxi: in two occasions, I requested reception to help me to get a taxi, with 30 minutes waiting time no taxi, I had to go by myself outside and get taxi which are easily to get. Safe box: We found an item (small umbrella) in the safebox of our room which belongs to a previous guest. Departure: it was one of the weirdest experiences.. No farewell, no feedback, no help with the luggage and I had to go outside of the hotel and get the taxi by myself and comeback to pick up my luggage and my wife. The only exception is the breakfast, I mean the team there are welcoming but the food is average. In summary.. this is a very questionable 5-star property.
