this is the entrance to Fes EL Jdid you will find here most of all cloth and specialty Caftan Tip: when you travel Morocco first thing you must know is every place that you will arrive, some one will come to help you, first they are very nice, but there interance is to take you not to the place that you need, they will take you to friends stores to buy and get the profit for them self. you will find after that the same thing in half price or even more. one example: someone offer us his help to get to El Fna he took us to his friend and offer us lamp in 2500 dirham, when we said that it's very expensive he took us to another friend and offer the same lamp in 150 dirham, finally we bought it at only 50 dirham!!!

Between Gate Semmarin Medina and Bab Mechouar is the Jewish area, along the main street Grande Rue de Fes El Jdid where shops line up both sides. Space in the first floor always for business while the second floor for private space. The living community locates on the side where Darb Zawia door situated. Even though the Jew no longer live over there, here we can still observe local life style, souks, housing types like in any other old medina.

The market area is vast full folk tourists and local and donkeys, be alert at all times people and dont try the local free food and a guide is advised because you WILL get lost! On saying all that it is a fascinating look at life and worth doing at least once. Been to FEZ lots of times overnighting on journey south and just once into the market.

Nothing special but just a gate. The surrounding area could be unsafe. One weird local man try to approach us and following us through. If you go to the palace, you will pass through it.

Barrio judío, con venta de ropa usada, electrodomésticos, muy sucio y descuidado. Es muy largo y sales a una avenida con viviendas de casas de madera muy uniforme. En lo personal no me parece atractiva esta zona para visitar.
