We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of our Morocco trip. This Riad has about 8 or so rooms/suites and is located at the northern end of the medina (old city) of Rabat in a quiet, narrow street. It’s tucked away but straightforward to find with Google maps and about a 20 minute walk from the train station. This Riad combines the beauty of a historic building, Moorish in style, with the conveniences of a modern boutique hotel. It’s very stylish and clean. Our room had a fridge, safe, TV with some English channels, a kettle etc. Bed was good, linen, pillows and towels all high quality. WiFi worked very well and the air conditioning was quiet and efficient. It’s quite ‘gadgety’, with electric blinds and buttons for lights and an iPad for something, it took me a day or so to get to grips with it all. The hotel serves a delicious traditional breakfast. There is a rooftop pool with a view across the medina which is lovely, but unheated so a bit nippy for me. There are some sun loungers and a shaded seating area. Some people may consider that this Riad has been over restored and does not offer a ‘real’ Riad experience. But this Riad has several advantages. It is much quieter than the more traditional type (which usually have no sound proofing) , is more accessible because it has a lift and doesn’t have steep narrow stairs or low doorways, and has sliding glass windows which keep biting insects out. The staff here are very kind and helpful and made a real effort to make our stay comfortable. We enjoyed our 3 days here, the weather was beautiful and Rabat is a lovely clean green city. The Rabat medina is nice to walk around, much calmer than Marrakesh and comparatively easy to navigate as it’s on more of a grid pattern. The tram is a 10 minute walk away and is handy for getting around town, it’s cheap (about 50p a trip) clean, safe and reliable. Most of the local restaurants do not serve alcohol, however we found a few places that did, we can particularly recommend BazArt. A transfer to the airport cost 250 dhs and takes about 20 minutes. We would stay here again if we...
Read moreLooking to stay in the ultimate luxury with all the modern conveniences? Euphoriad, in the heart of the medina of Rabat provides guest with exactly that – comfort, style, and refinement for today’s world. A culmination of the partnership between French, American and Moroccan artists, this Riad was decorated and designed under the leadership of Chafiq Kabbaj, a Moroccan architect. Staying true to the building history and tradition were important to the renovation, yet adding modern amenities and adapting for contemporary life were the focus. And it shows. Euphoriad is a perfect blend of old and new, and a delightful place to stay while visiting Morocco.
I was a solo traveler, stopping by Euphoriad for a single night. I checked in to a Deluxe room, which was the perfect accommodation for my overnight trip. Euphoriad has three Deluxe rooms, each named after a different feminine flower, and the furniture and artwork decorating the rooms are mostly crafted by Moroccan designers. The room felt modern, but the traditional colors and décor were appropriately used to pay homage to the riad’s locale.
One of the most persuading reasons to stay here is the terrace pool/Jacuzzi. The rooftop terrace looks out upon the medina of Rabat, La Tour Hassan, the Mausoleum. It’s cathartic. Time will fly by as you relax, taking in the sights and sounds of Rabat from the rooftop, enjoying the natural sunshine. There’s even a bar with which to purchase a refreshment.
Overall, there’s not a single reason I can think of NOT to stay at Euphoriad. In fact, I enjoyed the service, the décor, and the great location so much, I wished my trip was longer! I will definitely be booking here again, and highly recommend Euphoriad to any...
Read moreGreat renovation for a Riad that is aesthetically probably one of the best we have been to so far. Service is excellent and prompt. The staff is very dedicated and surprisingly highly educated, soft spoken and quite knowledgeable. The fixed menu for dining has limited options but they are all delicious and the food quality is really good. The chef added a good and delicate twist to typical traditional local dishes to make them a bit more refined without transforming them into something they are not supposed to be like it sometimes happens. So: well done! Easy access to the rest of the medina, beach and the Andalusian Gardens, everything is literally 5 minutes walk. The other great advantage of the location is the proximity to the river and boat service to go across the more high end and refined area of Salé and it's marina and restaurants. Also 40 minutes walk to the Chellah and 20 minutes to the Hassan Tower. This Riad ticks all the boxes. On top of the above, the Hammam and massage services are of really good standard. Highly recommended. Would...
