While wandering through the Medina in Rabat, my friend and I stumbled upon Restaurant de la Libération—a hidden gem that became a highlight of our trip. The location is central and convenient, nestled within the lively and authentic atmosphere of the Medina. This place has an old-world charm with a warm, welcoming vibe that feels like stepping back in time.
We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of food, especially considering the reasonable prices. The menu features traditional Moroccan dishes that are flavorful and freshly made. We tried a few local specialties, including tagine and couscous, packed with rich spices and perfectly cooked. The portions were generous, and every dish was prepared carefully, reflecting the restaurant’s authentic approach to Moroccan cuisine.
The friendly and attentive service added to the comfortable and laid-back experience. Even with the hustle and bustle of the Medina outside, the restaurant felt like a peaceful escape where we could relax and enjoy our meal. Overall, Restaurant de la Libération offers an authentic dining experience at a great price, making it ideal for travelers looking for local flavor without breaking the bank. If you’re exploring Rabat’s Medina, this spot is worth a visit for its delicious food, affordable prices, and genuine...
Read moreThis restaurant offers a variety of authentic fast food dishes, including shawarma, which was surprisingly served with fusilli pasta and fries—a unique combination that actually worked well! The food was fresh, flavorful, and the lemon juice paired nicely with the shawarma. However, the overall experience was affected by the cleanliness of the place. The dining area was a bit dusty, and we had to wipe down the plates and forks ourselves with napkins. This definitely took away from the enjoyment of the meal. Another discomfort was the behavior of the staff—some of the waiters were watching me closely while I was eating, which made it hard to relax and enjoy the food. That said, if you’re looking for affordable and tasty local food, this spot can be a good choice—just be aware that there are areas they really need to improve, especially in terms of hygiene and...

The place was really busy, with mixed families. The staff were moving about quickly. People were all chatting amongst. It had quite a vibe. I'll say it was a nice place to chill for a minute.
But for the food -...
