OYO 123 Hotel Prince Plaza — Hotel in Kathmandu Metropolitan City

The hotel deserves 5 star rating although it doesn't have a 5 star rating. The hotel is absolutely clean and functional at every level with a amazing restaurant that serves mouth watering meals. I did my research on Booking. Com before I left South Africa and I feel fulfilled that my choice was absolutely positive. This Hotel is smack bang in the centre of the city and When I exit the front door's of this hotel everything I need is a few steps away. The staff is very hospitalised in every way and manner. This Hotel was the best choice I made for comfort, affordability and security. They also have a restaurant attached to the property that serves mouth watering meals that is equally clean, healthy and functional and they will serve you the same meals in your room. The hotel has all the requirements that a avid and solo traveller like me requires. It has a lift that rarely use because I'm health conscious, air conditioning, sparkling bathroom, all international tv channels, a must for me, room size you can move about freely without triping over your suitcase, a bed that could accommodate 4 people and, every cupboard and door handle in place and functional. I could and would never find any hotel in South Africa in this condition for this price. What did I not like at this hotel. Arrived here for our first night in Nepal. We got off a late flight (around 10pm) but found the concierge at the reception desk to greet us. When we showed him our booking confirmation from Booking.com he said he couldn't find us on his system and that we weren't scheduled to stay there. They said not to worry and that they would prepare a room for us shortly. In the interim he asked us to pay and tried to charge us more than the price we had booked it for. We challenged this and he agreed to charge us the original price - which was for a "Deluxe Room". ||||Getting to our room it was obviously not deluxe - small, cramped, with dirty bathroom, walls and bedding. ||||We were told breakfast started at 8 but the next morning when we came down at 7:50 all the food had already gone. ||||On our last night we asked to organise things as we were leaving early the next day, we asked if there was anything to pay on our bill which we were told no, asked if an early breakfast could be arranged and repeatedly asked if they could organise a taxi to pick us up in the morning - we later confirmed with them that this was arranged. ||||The next morning we came downstairs to no breakfast, no taxi and an outstanding bill for water and toilet paper. SCAM ALERT : Beware this hotel is completely RIP OFF, There hotel pricing is not transparent at all. If you will approach this hotel directly for rooms , they will charge you thrice the actual price of the rooms. It is highly adviced to book this hotel through OYO or any hotel booking websites only so that you cannot get ripped off from the crooked hotel staff. I visited this hotel directly for rooms , they offered me room for Rs. 3500 per day, same room can be booked through OYO or any online hotel booking website for Rs. 1100. When I enquired about this huge price difference they came out with hell off lies and excuses. Instead for feeling sorry for there attempted cheat, there hotel staff was like , We don't care kinna of attitude. Fellow travelers I only mean to point out there unethical ways of doing Business, simply if they will get chance ,they will not leave any chance to rip you off.
