We spent a total of 4 nights during 2 different visits during our trip.

The dogs were lovely (5 stars for awesome dogs). Then again, to have gaged birds and tortoises there was not something that I would enjoy.

Restaurant did very good breakfasts and drinks were good too, average OK price level.

Then to actual stays/room. First 2 nights we were in 2nd floor non refurbished side, door opened to the sea view. Room was nice (someone nay think "too outdated") but we liked it.

Then our second stay: we were given a room that seemed new but soon we realized it was unfinished room.

When we went in, after a short while we realized there was no place to put our close to (we were on 2 wks.trip so we had some clothes in our backpacks, and would have appreciated a closet or even a bar with hangers). We went to reseption to talk about this but sadly we were not kind of taken seriously. Eventually we got one foldable suitcase stand, it helped a little as we would not need to use kitchenette table and chairs to keep our bags on...

In the nigth we realized there was no curtain in a door, so the lights of yard and also one weird red/blue blinking light made sleeping not so ease. So we tried to put some scarf hacks etc. to help with this.

Our clothes were hanging from television, door handles etc.so it looked more like a refugee camp than hotel room.

We were surprised how much mosquito bites we got that night (MUCH more than during 8 previous night on island). Then I realized that our windows did not have mosquito nets on vent holes (!!!)

Next day the repair guys arrived to "our terrace" which I understood should have been in our use. At this point we needed to spend the time in our room window shutters closed as it is not very private to have a repair guy (scraping and painting our wall) facing the window, into our room. Occassional gigarette smell also came in when every now and then another guy came hanging there with the repair guy.

Also our washroom had not drape in curtain. As a cherry on top, of course the guys started scraping also the wall where the washroom was. Window is high but hey, guys needed also A ladder and this sounds really too much but it is not a joke: there was a repair guys head in a window one time when my wife was taking a shower and one time when I was sitting on a toilet (!!!).

Really I don't want to blame the repair guys, they are not the MAIN parties to blame but come on...

We reported on this at reception and I told many many times that this really was not acceptable.

I thought that offering some sort of refund or even a dinner or even breakfast on the house would have been more than fair, I even tried to hint about it, but sadly, nothing. We were thanked for the feedback but kind of tolt that we should had come and report on every problem separately (well, we reported on room generally being not ready for stay already in the beginning!).

This all started to piss me off on my way home in plane so I tried to get help from hotels.co. but unfornately they also could not help.

So here we are with this review that a leave with mixed feelings, we sort of loved the place but then when we came back 2nd time during our trip, our room and how the staff handled our comments and worries was like from a comedy film :(

However, because of they would not even admit afterwards in a form of some sort of refund that they did a big mistake (not us, customers), sadly I need to give amount of stars I have not used before.

Our first stay would have been 4 stars but second stay and how it all was handled makes the eventual...

Stayed here last week of September 2025. Booked last minute (day of) and got a beachfront room (5 steps to the sand), Room 105. Property has a cool island vibe with great staff and all the services you might want without the mega resort feel. Rooms are nicely furnished and equipped with microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, blender and basic utensils. AC was strong and effective. Property has turtles, tropical birds, friendly dogs and gentle sassy cats, koi pond, and a small pool, bar, and restaurant. We had amen dinner and eagerly breakfasts. Food was good. portion sizes fair and prices reasonable. Island Cappuccino was the best or maybe it was the view!||Beach is wide and sand soft and not rocky. It was not infiltrated with sargassum when we got there, but some winds blew some in the last day we were there but it was not oppressive or limiting the beach experience like it can on some beaches. Water was clear and entry easy and swimmable. Teh beach is very broad. You can walk west where it's empty and cross D's Bar to get to Maho to watch the planes land. It takes about 30 minutes to do. We did it at twilight and felt safe. Head east up the beach to see other condos and small resorts. Great location. There's a small C store an easy 1/4 mile walk away that has EVERYTHING.||The hotel is literally 45 feet from the side of the main runway so they have built three decks for plane spotting without having to go to Maho. Nirvana for an AV geek like me. The planes reactive most of the day form 8-8 but the big boys from an only about 12-4 so not a big deal from a noise perspective.||Would easily stay there again, recommend you spring for the beachfront units 105-107, so worth the five steps to the beach. With windows and doors closed, the waves sounds permeate the room; so comforting. The upper units are nice to but you have to go down the back and around to get to the beach, not a big deal as the property is so small, it's super easy. I'd avoid the garden nits to the back and the basement ones unless budget is the most...

Mary’s Boon Hotel on Simpson Bay is a hidden gem, offering a charming and peaceful retreat right on the beach. While the hotel is close to the airport, making it possible to see and hear planes take off and land from 10 am to 10 pm, the experience quickly becomes part of the charm. By night, the atmosphere is serene and relaxing.||||The staff are warm, welcoming, and always eager to assist. The on-site restaurant serves delicious meals—we dined there multiple times and enjoyed a variety of dishes, including salmon with rice and peas, hamburgers with fries, quinoa avocado salad, sweet potatoes, chicken wings, and a decadent lava cake. Every meal was fresh and flavorful.||||We stayed in the garden studio, which we absolutely loved. It was peaceful, surrounded by lush gardens, and waking up to the sound of chirping birds while enjoying a morning coffee or tea was a highlight. We also experienced a newly renovated room inside the hotel, located downstairs by the office. While nice, we much preferred the garden and beachfront accommodations for their tranquil setting.||||The hotel provides beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas, making it easy to enjoy the stunning, calm waters of Simpson Bay Beach. The location is ideal—close to grocery stores, rental cars, restaurants, bars, pharmacies, bakeries, and just a 25-minute drive to the French side. There’s always something to do around the bay and town, making Mary’s Boon a fantastic choice for those looking to experience both relaxation and convenience. Highly...

Quiet little (or so I thought) hotel that is right next to the runway at SXM. So if you do not want to hear/see airplanes, this isn’t for you, but due to covid there is less air traffic. Being an aviation fan, I had to try this place for one night since our main hotel wasn’t available one night. We had room 104 - private garden suite, I mean PRIVATE! It’s tucked into the corner by the pool with its own little table/chairs. Room was great, AC was cold, a small table for 2, a kitchenette, and bathroom. I would say a queen might have been more comfortable for the size of the room but I’ll never turn down a king bed. The restaurant food was average, quinoa salad didn’t have any dressing and the burger was made well done instead of medium as I asked, however, this was a trend on the island, not just here. Chris at the outdoor was great, we enjoyed a few bottles of wine on the beach and the price was reasonable. They also have 2 high terraces where you can go watch the airplanes and the highest one has great 360 degree views. My only issue was on a sunday check out, there was nobody in the office and 2 staff walked by me while I was standing at the office door without asking if I needed any help. Then I noticed the sign on the door to whatsapp reservations or the manager, so I did so. I was able to find another person in a blue staff shirt so I gave him the room key and told him we were checking out and that I messaged the number on the door.

If I could give this hotel zero stars, I would. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this place was nothing like the photos on the website. The walls in our room were covered in mildew stains, making it impossible to feel clean or comfortable. The mattress was squeaky, lumpy, and utterly uncomfortable—definitely not conducive to a good night’s sleep. The receptionist had an apathetic, “I-don’t-care” attitude, offering no help or solutions to our concerns. Adding to the nightmare, there were bugs everywhere, stray cats somehow made their way into our room, and the shower was full of spider webs—absolutely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one in such a picturesque location. On top of that, we were charged an additional $50 just for having one more person in our group, even though this isn’t an all-inclusive resort. What exactly are we paying for outside of a basic room? There were zero amenities, zero service, and zero accountability. The WiFi they provided didn’t work, so we couldn’t even distract ourselves from the horror of our stay. This property is a complete dump, which is a shame because it’s on a stunning beach. Unfortunately, this hotel is ruining the atmosphere with its lack of care and attention to basic cleanliness and hospitality. Save yourself the stress and money—this was hands down the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.
