Hotel Larende — Hotel in Amsterdam

We had a very comfortable stay at this hotel. We like the location - it's not right in the middle of the tourist area. It's an easy 30-minute saunter to Leidseplein, a good way to burn off all the extra calories. If you rather didn't walk, you can get the tram. It is well connected to the Central Station and Sloterdijk Station, too.||||The room was in good condition. The decor was simple and functional; nothing posh but all comfortable. We had a room at the back with a small balcony. No view to speak of, but we didn't expect any and it was quiet. So glad we could open the French doors in the morning to let some air in. The lovely tree also provided some nice shade. The room has air con which was a blessing during the 2022 heat wave of 35C. We weren't disturbed by noise from fellow guests. ||||The breakfast was very good. The buffet is not big, but you have all you need for breakfast. (The photo of the breakfast buffet is pretty accurate). The staff was lovely and very friendly. We cannot fault their hospitality and attentiveness. If you are polite and courteous to them and treat them with respect, they in turn will treat you well.||||The only thing could do with improvement is the lighting in the bathroom. We could have done with one bright light, so that we could see clearly when we shaved. The shower worked very well. Alas, we didn't have the chance to try out the jacuzzi bath.||||We'll be more than happy to stay here again. Hartelijk bedankt. We verheugen ons op ons volgende...

Lovely small hotel, located on a main through road (De Clercqstraat), clean and bright with friendly and helpful staff.||I have an issue when hotels offer a 'breakfast included' option and then breakfast is disappointing! A lot of us will book a breakfast option as it's a quick and easy way to start the day before you head off touristing. Breakfast here was a big let down and it took quite some time to replenish things that had emptied - a little frustrating if you're in a bit of haste to get out of the door in the morning. There is no option for anything hot for breakfast and I don't think this is mentioned when booking.||Room (302) was lovely and bright, clean and more than ok for what we needed it for.||The hotel itself is in a great location - around 10ish minutes from (what would be classed as) central Amsterdam and positioned excellently for tram connections. There is a lovely cafe`/bar about ten doors down which has an outdoor terrace on the canal, a delicious menu and a fab choice of beers. Really reasonably priced and open till late (1.00am - which can be a little noisy if the weather is warm and you need a bedroom window open, but not a problem really). Our 2-year-old didn't give us the opportunity to stay out late, but it sounded like the punters were having a good time!||We'd definitely use this hotel again...but remember to have breakfast...
