Chassé Boutique Hotel Amsterdam West — Hotel in Amsterdam

Stayed 28/1/19 - 30/1/19 Exceptional hotel staff and service 15/10!! Beautiful hotel with modern decor and fairly priced. Very close to the city center with a free gym included. Such an amazing experience and I would recommend anyone to spend a night there.

I had planned an anniversary city break with my wife and called the hotel a day before we booked it. I spoke to a very friendly lady called Alex and explained, without me asking she offered to add a romantic touch to our room before our arrival.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by Saveena, who welcomed us, she found out we were a couple on our anniversary holiday and she was determined she wanted to add something special to our experience, and went straight to the manager jeordianno who organised a room with a balcony as my wife smokes. within 10 minutes of arriving we had felt more welcomed in Chasse than any other hotel we have ever stayed at. Saveena then took to showing us to our room, (of which I had no opportunity to follow up with Alex regarding adding the romantic touch as I was with my wife the entire time) Lo and behold once we entered there were rose petals and chocolates on the bed ready for our arrival!

The room had a beautifully modern decor, with wooden flooring, which you would expect to be cold with -1 temperature outside, however, the heating system was fantastic and the room felt perfect. The bathroom was large with a bathtub and warm strong pressure shower.

The hotel is attached with a dance studio which is next door. During our conversation with Saveena, we mentioned we both used to be hip-hop/urban dancers before we had kids. Within 10 minutes of checking in we get a knock on the door from jeordianno, he mentioned Saveena told him about us and he wanted to offer us a free dance lesson each for any session next door!

The Location of the hotel is more than ideal, there is a tram stop a two minute walk from the hotel, the tram takes 10 minutes to get to Amsterdam Centraal.

We were staying in the hotel for two nights and had paid for breakfast on the first morning, unfortunately we ended missing it as we had used the gym attached to the hotel and spent too long there. Alex was at the reception desk and she offered to speak to jeordannio to move it across to the next day, which was also done free of charge.

The breakfast was 10 Euros each and was AMAZING, the staff in the bar/restaurant area as just as friendly as the reception staff and the waiting service was fantastic. The breakfast consisted a self service with a selection of cereals, juices, eggs, breads and cheeses, however they also offer fresh cooked hot food. We both got the poached eggs which were made to perfection. As we were done, the waitress offered a sweet selection and suggested we try the pancakes. My Wife and I were extremely happy we stayed for the pancakes as they were delicious (cooked crispy on the outside and melt-in-your-mouth soft on the inside)it was by far the best meal I had in Amsterdam! Both the cook and the waitress said good bye to us on the way out as they were both very welcoming and friendly.

Upon leaving the hotel we met jeordannio who asked us how our stay was, he had been so friendly and welcoming the entire stay and we promised that we would stay there again when we come back to Amsterdam. He had explained how important it was for him that every guest felt welcomed and he went far and beyond with everyone. jeordannio bid us a farewell with a lovely parting gift.

"Hotel would have been ok if it it not for waking up at 3 am because of a sound of a small trashbag that contained bread and some leftover food. Turns out it was a mouse. Needless to say it ruined our nightsleep and stay."

Update:

Contacted them based on their reply below, which seemed reasonable. However, instead of taking this issue "very serious" by offering sincere apologies they seemed mostly concerned in me removing this review. They offered me 50 euro compensation if I would take this review down (the room was 200 euro). This is laughable. Who would pay 200-50=150 euro for a room including a mouse and a terrible night. So they obviously can keep my money, but the review stays here.

We loved our stay in the Chasse Hotel!

Clean, modern, cosy hotel. Spacious and gorgeous rooms, equipped with everything necessary even for longer stays (big wardrobe, smaller wardrobe with safe, bathrobes, heating and AC, wonderful bathroom with a big shower). Ideal for working too ( stable desk in the room and fast wifi).

The quiet location and comfortable mattress guarantee a great sleep. Tasty and varied breakfast buffet.

Super friendly and attentive staff, both at the reception and in service. Always kind, professional and smiling!

The area is not super central, but greatly connected to the city center by the tram 13 (15min trip). And that's exactly what we loved: hanging around in this quiet, clean and nice area, after an entire day in the busy city center. There are plenty of nice Cafés and delicious restaurants (lots of vegan and vegetarian options) just few steps from the hotel.

Definitely worth...
