Please, choose an other hotel !! If you arrive after 5PM you will sleep on the street...
Worst experience of my life ! They didn't let us sleep at the hotel because they didn't send us the e mail key and the emergency number do not work. I am so sorry to have to write this about this hotel but I need to tell this story because nobody deserves what they made to us.
the receptionist spoke to us as if we were filthy people. She started by admitting her mistake because she should have sent us the email key that we had requested at the right time. then she refused to make a commercial gesture to us. She was extremely unpleasant, even though we were exhausted from sleeping in horrible conditions. She said we were mean to her even though she was the one who put us on edge and we kept calm. I do not recommend this establishment which is overpriced for absolutely poor service. They said it was our faute even if we called the emergency number, and we asked for the email key to open the door before 5PM. They charged us 77 euros, but we never slept at the hotel. the lady at reception is incompetent and mean to many customers. The hotel manager cannot be reached. We were two young women in Lisse all night, we had to borrow a stranger's caravan to sleep somewhere. We are two young women of 25 years old and we spent the night outside until 5am. The lady at reception considered that we had lied to her because we found a caravan to sleep in, and therefore we were not "on the street all night". Until now, they refuse to reimburse us and refused our request as a commercial gesture to sleep in the hotel...
Read moreI would like to express my appreciation for the quality of the service I received at the Hotel de Duif staff during my recent stay. The entire staff was so kind in their ways and truly made me feel welcomed. Special thanks to Celine, Marian, Bianca, Tim and Ingrid, and all those I cannot recall their names. What a great team. Location is just the best one could have: just a 10 min walk from Keuhenhof. Restaurants are a few steps away, as well as the city center and bus stops.
Years ago I worked in the hospitality industry and I can tell by experience this is not an easy business and can be extremely challenging as its main core is to deal with guests (oh, guests...). Hotel properties are quite similar regardless of which brand one may choose, and what makes the difference from one to another is definitely their staff. As a seasoned traveler who has stayed in all sorts of accommodations - from the cheapest hostels to top 5-stars properties, I can tell that the Hotel staff who provides the service is what defines the guest experience.
I am very much looking forward to my next stay at the Hotel de Duif. The fact that I know I will stay at a property where I feel at home makes all the difference. Thank you so much for making this such a...
Read moreI love this place 🥰 Me and my fiancé have spent here 4 nights. Room was maybe not very big but super cosy and clean. Bed was very comfortable, in a bathroom you can find hair dryer and basic cosmetics, they will also give you a lot of towels. In your room you will have a kettle, cups and a variety of tee, coffee and milk. All staff is super nice and helpful, they do not mind to help us open a bottle of wine and give some glasses. Breakfast was very nice, with scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes, boiled egs, variety od cheeses, cold cuts and veggies. Big choice of cereals, yoghurt and juice, extremely good coffee! There is a free parking in front of the hotel. Localisation is perfect, shops, restaurants, but the area is quiet and perfect to rest after whole day. I was in love with the interior design in the lobby and dining room, from which you can reach small patio perfect for an evening glass of wine or morning coffee. So there is a lot od space in this hotel to spent some time outside your room. Best regards to all employees and my sincere recommendations for all tourists that are looking nice...
