It has been over 6 months since I stayed here to see a show, so review might not be as helpful as it could be (hence the 'Hotel Style & Amenities' all being "Not Sure").||||I booked this through my Air NZ account - the first time I have ever done such a thing, I normally go straight to the provider. The booking went through fine though and there were no issues when I got there either (like they hadn't received it or it had been cancelled). ||||The Epsom Motor Inn is a 45 min walk from one of the nearest Skybus bus stops. I booked a standard studio, non-smoking. I chose it for its location. ||||However, I arrived there and no one was there to check me in. The person on the front desk pulled up in his car after a short wait and checked me in; he didn't seem to be permanently at the desk either, but responded to the bell for attention. The room was ready for me immediately, but he couldn't answer any of my questions about the area and didn't have a map of Auckland (I hadn't been in that part of Auckland before) and referred me the to tourist booklets they had. ||||The room was moderately clean, comfortable, but could do with better presentation ie an update on the covers on the beds and the sink area. I slept fine and the temperature of the room was fine. I also had trouble with the shower temperature going between hot and cold. I got fed up in the end and asked if they could do something as the shower water wasn't draining properly and that was fixed straight away.||||The Japanese restaurant wasn't operating when I was there and seemed it hadn't for a while. The courtyard area where you park the cars could do with more maintenance as the rest of the place in general. Hence the specification this is a low 3 rating; I've had experience in 3 star motels throughout NZ, which were better in general. ||||I had a really good curry down the road at the small...
Read moreJust had the worst experience with them Had 2bookings with them spanning iver a week, 2x 3 nights - 6 nights in total
Received a phone call from them to cancel my booking with the site I had booked through due to cyclome damages, as I have recently experienced bookings that were cancelled I questioned them to ask why I had to ring the site and make the cancellation- when in my previous experience of cancellation the actual accom/hotel contacted the site instead of me.
Anyhow, I rang the site I booked through and they didn’t believe me because they had not received any coms as such from the hotel, so they reluctantly mafe the cancellation and said it would take 10-15days when in previous cancellations (a month ago) it only took 5. Might I add those cancellations weren’t of my accord they were double bookings from the providers.
Having not fully believed in the hotels reason for asking me to cancel, bot only did I ask a relative in Auckland to visit the Epsom Motor Inn, but I rang them off a different number and began to make a booking to where they were available and when I stated my booking, the person on the hotels end proceeded to say yea that booking still stands, then when I asked why I was called to say I had to cancel my booking he then changed his story to say, please email and txt, he can not answer as he was not infront of his computer.
The funny thing is that before I made the booking 2weeks ago I actually spoke to him and he remembered me
so I proceeded to express my disgust in their dishonesty as it turned out they had double booked and used damages from the cyclone as a reason for cancellation.
If this was a real reason you would think theyd have no problem ringing the site to inform them of the reason for cancellation rather than me.
I live near wellington and flights scheduled to and from...
Read moreWhere do I start? I was booked into this motel by my promoter, had I have had the option of booking my own, I would have NEVER picked this motel. ||||I was told to pick my key up from the black box out the front, however, on arriving the key was not there. I started to have a little scavenger hunt, no key! I then called the manager at 1:30am (I arrived at 1am) and he told me it was ''taped'' to the front window. Odd. I looked anyways, nothing. Richie (the owner) then came down in his pajamas and apologized as it seems 'someone had taken it' .... okay? (why in the world would you sticky tape a key to a unit at the front of your establishment and be surprised that someone had taken it) Richie then leads me into my unit through the back door, the place smelt like an ashtray, it was dirty and honestly, I am not picky but it was filthy. I asked him "Does this mean someone has access to my unit?" he replied with "yes, so make sure to double lock everything and dont leave anything valuable inside" ... I am a young woman and Richie did not seem bothered to leave me there alone and did not offer me another room. I was very scared and anxious the whole time, any noise I heard I thought was someone coming inside. ||||This is unacceptable. I was meant to stay there another night but left early in the morning to stay else where.||||The unit was embarrassing. Stains all over the sheets, holes in the doors, no amenities. NOTHING. I understand that this place offered hourly rates which we can all assume is for illegal activities. I am lucky that I had enough money to stay else where, another person may not be as fortunate. ||||A complete embarrassment of an ''establishment'' I urge you to...
