Review of Auckland Showgrounds – South East Asian Festival

The recent South East Asian Festival at Auckland Showgrounds was an exciting event, but it came with several challenges that made the experience less enjoyable. While the festival aimed to showcase vibrant cultures, delicious food, and entertainment, the overwhelming crowd, excessive noise, and smoke from food stalls made it difficult to fully appreciate the event.

One of the main issues was overcrowding. The sheer number of attendees made it hard to move around, with long queues for food and limited seating areas. The noise levels were also overwhelming, with loudspeakers blasting music and announcements, making it difficult to have conversations or enjoy the performances comfortably.

Another downside was the excessive smoke from the food stalls. While street food is a highlight of any cultural festival, the poor ventilation in the venue meant the air was thick with smoke, making it uncomfortable for many visitors, especially those sensitive to strong smells.

Parking was another inconvenience. There was no free parking available, and nearby paid parking options were expensive. Many attendees had to park far away and walk a considerable distance to reach the venue.

Overall, while the festival had great potential with its diverse food options and cultural showcases, the poor crowd management, excessive noise, and smoky atmosphere took away from the experience. Future events could benefit from a larger venue, better crowd control, improved ventilation, and clearer parking arrangements to enhance...

🌟 Review of NZ Gift & Homeware Fairs 2025 at Showgrounds

Attending the NZ Gift & Homeware Fairs 2025 at Showgrounds was an absolutely wonderful experience! From the moment I entered, the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement, creativity, and innovation.

The fair showcased an incredible range of unique homeware, lifestyle products, and beautifully crafted gifts from talented local and international exhibitors. Each stall had something special, whether it was stylish décor, artisan-made pieces, or modern practical solutions for everyday living. I especially enjoyed discovering new brands and chatting with creators who were so passionate about their work.

The event was well-organized and easy to navigate, with clear sections and helpful staff. The layout made it enjoyable to explore without feeling rushed, and there were plenty of opportunities to interact, sample, and even try hands-on displays. The atmosphere was vibrant yet welcoming — it truly felt like a celebration of creativity and design.

What made it extra fun 🤩 was the mix of inspiration and entertainment. It wasn’t just about shopping, but also about exploring trends, getting fresh ideas, and appreciating the artistry behind every product.

Overall, the NZ Gift & Homeware Fairs 2025 was a fantastic experience — fun, inspiring, and definitely worth attending. I left with great finds, fresh ideas, and already looking forward to...

I visited the Home Show today. Saturday 2023. The people inside were on the whole tremendous because they were obviously keen to make their brands known. The carparking attendants were also polite and helpful. However the young people at the entry were below satisfactory. They clearly had not been given training on politeness and how to manage queries or show kindness to polite people/future customers of stand holders. On entering we were treated disrespectfully by a young guy who questioned our entry WITH our tickets when we'd already shown them to someone further back. I wouldn't have bothered to complain, but on exiting we decided to enter the free giveaway competition because we hadn't when we entered. The tablets were all on the side of the exit to carry the competition entry out. We were made to look like fools for even thinking we'd like to partake. To top it off there was loud and rude laughter by those involved when we were about to leave. There was nothing polite or helpful about their behaviour. They clearly lacked solid...

The Great Easter Carnival is huge. Over 2,000 visitors at any time. Kids galore as over 50+ games and activities from 5 &> and adults as well. The Farm is a great contact with our farm animals. Free hand sanitizer after patting animals. Sheep shearing is an eye opener by super skill shearers. New huge farming tractors on display. Lots of food choices. A favourite was Malaysian food which had 6 lines queuing at anytime. Hotdogs were another favourite. Majority vendors accept cash but some offered EFTPOS. There is a cash vending ATM at 2 o'clock of ASB entrance. Great shows for kids and adults like a logging competition. Don't forget to visit our local helicopter heroes & their helicopter. Enjoy an entertaining & great family fun day!

Attended the Easter show today parking is a nightmare $10 to park and then $10 entry fee to get in on top of that the ticket prices for rides are ridiculous The lines for all rides were painfully long took 20-30mins standing in queue just to get on a ride the game prices were also out the gate people pushing in line and some kids getting stepped on needs to be a limit of people next time apart from that kids had fun but got sick of waiting in the long lines wouldn’t bother buying food here also as very pricey.
