IPOKE — Restaurant in Albert-Eden

This is one of the most underrated spots in all of Auckland, I have been consistently coming for the past few months because the couple making the food behind the counter are so lovely. The food is always super fresh with great portions and amazing service. I recommend coming in person as they allow for great customisation without extra charge unlike when ordering off Uber eats. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and my go to is the spicy poke bowl with avocado but I tried the new baked salmon bowl and it is truly delicious, especially now in winter. I recommend this spot to anyone who wants to come out to get lunch or dinner. I will definitely be coming back...

I really enjoyed the poké bowl I ordered from you yesterday, so I decided to order again today — but unfortunately, I was very disappointed. It’s unacceptable to serve customers stale rice.

The rice I received today was clearly day-old, stored in the fridge, and completely dried out. It was hard, dehydrated, and unpleasant to eat — simply not acceptable for a business. No one should have to pay for rice in that condition.

Fond of this place and the food is yummy but today was weird! I asked for more sesame seeds after seeing how many were added and the guy said ‘there’s plenty!’ I pointed out that I was asking for more because I observed the application and wanted more, but he just repeated ‘there’s plenty’. Kinda weird when you take the ‘build your own bowl’ option and then get told your tastebuds are wrong. Sure enough, about half the desired amount of sesame seeds. I would have paid more if necessary! Just want plenty of sesame seeds on my raw fish....
