Bottom floor unit you have a public footpath a metre away. Noise from above units simply from people walking around. Air con has a continuous ticking noise. Bathroom window, although frosted, has no blind so silhouette at night with bathroom light on is on display fir all passers-bys. Not even a stand to place your luggage on. Carpet may have been vacuum but "feels" grubby. No extra pillows. 2 armchairs gave up any support or cushioning years ago. The motel advertises" completely smoke/vape free yet people are free to vape in outside area right next door with no partitions at all. This makes opening a window or sliding door, if you are strong enough to, an impossible task. Every room upstairs has partition side walls balcony the downstairs rooms are open to the public footpath and rooms next door. Better hope the TV doesn't break down because in their paperwork you could easily find yourself footing the bill for its repair, or even replacement. We were left wondering "What is the point of booking early just to be given the shittiest room in the complex!" We asked for a room change but we're told fully booked yet rooms upstairs had many "one night stayers" and we were booked in for a few nights. Never again and have told travel agent to take this place off their list of...
Read moreRoom 17. Awful, bathroom tired and looks unclean but it's just years of use and no maintenance. Couches are old, lack any cushioning and are stained. When our room was tidied in the mornings no replacement toilet paper was given. But the worst of all was the terrible noise from the room above. The floor up there is incredibly squeaky, plus there is no insulation it seems so you hear every footstep, the sliding door to the bathroom, and the sliding door to the deck which is incredibly loud. We were woken each day at 5am due to the people above us having a baby who woke about then.. Which was fine, the baby's cries were quiet compared to the floorboards /doors. We did ask at reception about changing rooms, but they were fully booked. There was no real apology or suggestion of any sort of voucher /goodwill. I have paid the same per night to stay in much nicer accommodation. I didn't find the traffic noise as bad as others have said, and if the place was only just slightly maintained better + the noise issues rectified it would be fantastic, location is marvellous and size of the room was great. For the price we paid, I'd rather stay at a hostel for cheaper, knowing /expecting the noise. Do...
Read moreThe spacious studio I stayed in was clean tidy and modern. Ample room in all quarters. The layout is well thought out with the lounge being able to divide from the bedroom with shutter blinds. There was also a spa in the main bedroom area with the shower and toilet seperate. The studio had two TV's, one in the lounge and one in the bedroom.
Although the accommodation ticks most of the boxes, it however lets you down in two core areas. Comfort and noise levels. Sometimes the noise factor is hard to get away from due to busy streets, thin walls and lack of double glazing. However comfort should be a main priority in any accommodation and although nicely laid out and modern, I couldn't help but feel I was sitting in the lounge having high tea. The seating does not allow for anything but a rigid seating positions and becomes uncomfortable very quickly. While the bed was comfortable enough, the pillows really let a peaceful nights sleep down. Flat and hard would be the best way to describe them.
Overall a good experience and the staff are friendly. Sort out the pillows and the lounge seating and you'll be reaching...
