Adore Collection — Local services in Napier

My family just had THE WORST experience here. I took my family to this shop this morning. Unintentionally, my 2 year old toddler made a tiny damage on one of the things in the shop. I said sorry and offered to pay the damage but the lady refused and shouted at us: “Just get out!” I offered to pay the damage again and she shouted again at us: “get out!” My kids got frightened and I said calmly to the lady: “you’re being really rude.” And she shouted at us again: “I don’t care! Get out!” My 5 year old daughter was so upset and frightened and couldn’t stop crying. She got so traumatised that she even could go on the same street not mentioning anywhere remotely near the shop… As a mother, it’s so heartbreaking to see my daughter’s mental and emotional well-being are negatively impacted by other people’s bad behaviour. (A sweet couple who happened to be in the shop at the same time saw what happened and they bought toys for my kids and said to my daughter: "we were there and that lady was not nice. You're too sweet to experience that.") If the lady from the shop is reading this, I want you to know that your actions and behaviours have consequences to others. Kids are watching us to get sense of the world and as an adult it’s our responsibility to act sensibly and responsibly. You might have had a bad day and maybe you didn’t act like yourself normally, but it’s no excuse to treat other people badly just because you had a bad day. I went to this store other day to give away some flyers for our cafe .we esthablished almost cross the road from them.A man with glasses were standing by the door with another man almost outside the door just chatting ,i walked in store and just said “i am sorry to interrupt “ and stand a side ,he said goodbye to his mate and turn around me said” how rude you are to walk into my store when i am serving to other customers ,how would you feel if i done the same in your restaurant ” i told him i just walked in and waited didnt even mean to disturb anyone or anything than all he said was “leave and never ever come back to this place again”i walked out ,hold myself not to argue back because he was abviously just being racist at his highest possible level,he didnt even notice but me and my family shopes there all the time (but ofc never again 1 penny ). I thought a lot to have a word about it or not but leaving it as it is would be as much unfair to all of us trying to keep things together. As Napier businesses we have been thru very tough times lately and not going to allow this man to be rude to whoever he wants just like that. I’ve just come to write a review but read some of the previous reviews first. I’m not surprised to see all the great reviews for this lovely shop and their excellent customer service. I had a very specific necklace I was looking for (I’d seen it in a shop in Northland but it had been sold by the time I went back to purchase it), and I was so happy to find it online at Adore. I purchased it and got an email from the store (from a person - not an automated email) within 20mins. I had asked if it could be gift wrapped and that was no problem to them.
